Anyone else struggling with the USPS Ground Advantage changes for lightweight packages (4 oz, 8 oz, 12 oz, and 16 oz)?

We sell in the eBay Motors Parts & Accessories category and offer free shipping on all orders. On top of that, eBay requires free returns, which means we're also paying return shipping when buyers return an item for virtually any reason. Now, with the USPS Ground Advantage pricing changes, especially for the rural ZIP codes, it has become extremely difficult to price items competitively. For those of you offering free shipping, how are you adjusting your pricing? Are you increasing prices across the board, absorbing the cost, switching carriers, or changing your shipping strategy? With shipping costs continuing to rise while buyers still expect free shipping and free returns, it's becoming harder to stay profitable on lower-priced items. I'd really like to hear what other sellers are doing. Any ideas or strategies that have worked for you?

      USPS

USPS is unifying ounce-based rates for Ground Advantage at the Commercial Pricing rate, making all shipments to non-continental destinations that weigh less than 15.99 oz cost the same as a 15.99 oz shipment. For example, a 2 oz Ground Advantage package will now cost the same as a 15.99 oz package.

USPS® Ground Advantage rate update effective July 25, 2026

We recognize that USPS has made more frequent rate changes this year, and we understand how important it is for sellers to stay ahead of these updates. We're working closely with USPS to help sellers navigate these changes and provide timely updates as they happen. Today, we have another update to share.  Effective Saturday, July 25, 2026, USPS is increasing Ground Advantage rates. As a result, eBay Labels rates for Ground Advantage shipments weighing 3–5 lbs. will increase by $0.10 across shipping zones 1 - 8. This is the only USPS rate update at this time. Updated rates will automatically be reflected in the eBay shipping calculator when they take effect. We're continuing to work with our carrier partners to provide sellers with the most competitive shipping rates available. We'll keep our seller community informed as quickly as possible whenever new information becomes available. As always, thank you for selling on eBay.  The eBay Shipping Team

Anyone else getting repeated incorrect FedEx shipping adjustments through eBay?

Repeated incorrect FedEx shipping adjustments through eBay I've been having an ongoing problem with FedEx shipping labels purchased through eBay, and I'm wondering if other sellers are experiencing the same issue. Several of my FedEx shipments have received adjustment charges after delivery. In some cases, a package that I shipped at around 12 oz was later billed as 10 lb . I carefully weigh and measure every package before purchasing the label, and I also take photos of the package on the scale and with a tape measure and even taking a photo of size and weights. The strange part is that every time I dispute the adjustment with eBay, the dispute is approved and the charge is removed . However, this keeps happening. Recently, it happened on 3 of my last 7 FedEx shipments . I understand that occasional billing errors can happen, but repeated incorrect adjustments that are later reversed are becoming very time-consuming. Has anyone else experienced this with FedEx labels purchased through eBay? How often does it happen to you? Were you able to get eBay to investigate the recurring issue instead of handling each adjustment separately? Is there anything you've done that reduced or stopped these incorrect adjustment charges? I'm not looking to complain about a single shipment. I'm trying to find out whether this is a broader issue and whether anyone has found a long-term solution.

      Shipping small packages with ebay

Why was Ebay management caught with their pants down on the shipping issue? Why wasn't the eBay community given any advance notice? How did all of eBay's major competitors have shipping solutions in place and operating while eBay has none? USPS raised its shipping rates astronomically with $7.68 for a one ounce to 4 ounce package with tracking. FedEx and UPS immediately followed suit. With the ridiculous shipping expense, outrageous eBay fees, ad cost and taxes, there are no proceeds left to cover the cost of the products, labor, packaging, additional eBay store fees, etc. much less any profit. Ebay always exhorts us to charge less and less for our product offerings, but eBay has never reduced our fees in 23 years of dealing with them.

HARRISBURG PA DISTRIBUTION CENTER Miscanned Packages FYI

If you had anything go through the  HARRISBURG PA DISTRIBUTION CENTER this past weekend be aware that they mis scanned a ton of packages as "delivered" early Sunday morning.    I had a buyer reach out today asking where their order was. I looked at the tracking and it showed delivered but at 5:46am Sunday. I knew that was not right. I called the buyer's local USPS office and they got the package this morning and it will be delivered to my buyer tomorrow. They told me the Harrisburg distribution center messed up and scanned a couple of truckloads of packages as "delivered" by mistake and then the stuff got shoved to the side for a couple of days.  I wanted to pass this along in case you've shipped anything recently that may go through there.

      Seller Shipping Paid

I’d like to be able to report how much I actually spend as a seller on shipping . When I run the reports, it only shows me what a customer has paid in shipping. What report will show me what I have paid to eBay for shipping.  I typically go item by item and pull the detail from the item after sale. However, after too much time has elapsed, you can no longer access your sales item by item. I missed a small chunk of them at the start of the year and I’d like to track down those figures. Thank you

eBay’s USPS Parcel Insurance Plan (PIP) Claims — No Updates, No Access, No Support?

If a buyer doesn’t receive their USPS shipment and the seller has already issued a refund, eBay instructs sellers to file a claim for reimbursement through Parcel Insurance Plan (PIP) — a third-party company they’ve apparently contracted for this process:  🔗 PIP Claim Link   I submitted multiple claims through that link well over a  over a month ago , and just realized I’ve received zero communication from PIP since then. No emails. No confirmation. No case number. No updates. Nothing.   Naturally, I tried to follow up: There’s no visible way to check claim status on the form or site. The main PIP website provides no login or portal for eBay sellers. There’s no confirmation number at submission — just a quick pop-up that disappears. Their “Message Us” chat box  basically appears offline — regardless of day or time.  (me)  Connect to Live Agent ---> (chat)  Just a moment while I connect you with a live agent ---> (chat)  We're sorry, there are currently no agents available.  Literally EVERY... single... time.   This seems incredibly unprofessional and opaque for a process that directly impacts seller reimbursements. I even read online that we may need to call them — which feels absurd, especially when this is the only method eBay offers for recourse.   It honestly feels like these claims are just disappearing into a black hole.   Has anyone here successfully navigated this or found a way to get updates? Any advice would be hugely appreciated.   Thanks in advance.

      USPS Affecting Late Shipment Rate

I dropped my packages off at a different USPS location than usual across town because I was in the area.  They were scanned as accepted over 24 hours later and show the packages were sent to my local location. There is no history of the packages being received at the original location the day before.  I will be taking the time to scan every package I drop off and getting a receipt going forward.
