Need help: Damaged UPS shipment with eBay label stuck in shipping loop. UPS says only eBay can file claim.

Need help: Damaged UPS shipment with eBay label stuck in shipping loop. UPS says only eBay can file claim. I'm hoping someone has dealt with this before because I've spent days going back and forth between UPS and eBay without any resolution. I sold a Pride Go-Go mobility scooter and purchased the shipping label through eBay. The package was damaged in transit before it could be delivered to the buyer. The problem is that the package has been bouncing between Florida and Texas for over a week. It keeps showing "Out for Delivery," then "Returning to Sender," then ends up in another UPS facility. Neither the buyer nor I have been able to inspect the damage because it never actually arrives anywhere. My return address has changed since the label was created. UPS has repeatedly told me they cannot change the return address because the label was purchased through eBay and eBay is listed as the shipper. They also tell me I cannot file a damage claim because the shipment is restricted, and I receive the following error: "Unfortunately we cannot process your claim. The sender has restricted claims for this package. Please reach out to them directly for assistance. (UPS:E022)" UPS has told me multiple times that eBay must initiate the claim or otherwise authorize it. The problem is that eBay support keeps sending me back to the UPS claims website, which immediately rejects the claim with the error above. I've now contacted eBay several times and have received conflicting answers from different representatives. One says to file with UPS, UPS says only eBay can do it, and another eBay representative suggested refunding the buyer without addressing the damaged shipment or insurance claim. The buyer has been very patient throughout this process, and I want to make sure they receive a full refund. I also need to recover the value of the damaged item through the shipping insurance, but I'm currently stuck because neither company will take ownership of the claim. Has anyone successfully resolved a situation like this with an eBay shipping label? Specifically: How did you get eBay to actually file or escalate the UPS damage claim? Is there a department or phone number that handles restricted UPS claims purchased through eBay? Has anyone dealt with a package endlessly cycling between UPS facilities after being marked damaged? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. At this point I just need someone to take ownership of the claim instead of being sent back and forth between UPS and eBay.

Idea: Two-Track Payout Option — eBay Credit vs Cash Out. Would You Use It?

TITLE: "Idea: Two-Track Payout Option — eBay Credit vs Cash Out. Would You Use It?" Fellow sellers — I want to share an idea I've been thinking about as an active eBay seller in the jewelry and watches category, and I'd love to hear what the community thinks. The problem most of us know too well: When I sell a $2,000 item, I net roughly $1,200 after fees. That's nearly 40% gone before I can even think about restocking. For sellers like me who are constantly cycling inventory — selling to buy — that gap makes it genuinely hard to stay within the eBay ecosystem. So we go elsewhere. I know what some of you are thinking: "Just price higher to offset the fees." Fair point — and many of us try. But here's the reality in high-value categories like jewelry and watches: market price is market price. A Rolex Submariner sells for what the market will bear. You can't add 40% to your listing and expect it to move — buyers have comps, they have Google, and they have other platforms. We're already competing against StockX, GOAT, and Vestiaire who take smaller cuts and have loyal seller bases. Pricing higher to offset eBay fees just makes you less competitive against them. The fee structure is the problem, not the pricing strategy. The idea — a Two-Track Payout Option: What if eBay gave sellers a choice at the moment of payout? Option 1 — eBay Credit Keep your earnings as platform credit at a better rate. Sell $2,000 → receive $1,600 in eBay credit to spend on future purchases within the platform. Because eBay retains the cash instead of transferring it out, they can afford to give sellers more value in return. Option 2 — Cash Out Standard bank transfer at the current rate. Sell $2,000 → receive ~$1,200 as usual. No change for sellers who need liquidity. Why this is different from Spendable Funds: eBay already has Spendable Funds which lets you use your earnings to shop on eBay. That's a good start. But it's the same dollar amount — there's no incentive to choose it over cash. The Two-Track model adds a reward rate — more value if you keep it in the ecosystem — which gives sellers a genuine reason to choose credit over cash. Why this works for eBay: Keeps high-value sellers in jewelry, watches, fashion, and collectibles from migrating to competing platforms Sellers who take credit become buyers — the ecosystem grows from within Reduces eBay's cash outflow since credit costs less to issue than a bank transfer No major marketplace is doing this yet — it is a genuine first-mover opportunity This model doesn't ask eBay to lower fees. It asks eBay to give sellers who reinvest in the platform a better return on what they're already paying. That's a win for sellers and a win for eBay. My question for the community: If eBay offered you 30–40% more value as platform credit versus taking the cash — would you use it? Would it change how you think about staying on eBay as your primary selling platform? I'm sharing this here first because I believe the seller community's voice matters. If this resonates with you drop a comment, share it, or upvote — the more sellers who engage the more likely it gets noticed by the right people at eBay. — Garrick Wong eBay Seller · Jewelry & Watches

      Bundle Shipping

I received a message asking if someone bought more than 1 item would they have to pay for each shipping? I am glad to bundle but not sure how to do this. Any help would be appreciated. Would it involve some type of refund? Thanks

eBay still has not updated the order status to “Delivered.”

Hi everyone, I have several orders that were successfully delivered according to the carrier’s official tracking information. However, eBay still has not updated the order status to “Delivered.” The tracking numbers were uploaded correctly, and the carrier’s website clearly confirms delivery. Has anyone experienced this issue before? How long does it normally take for eBay to sync the delivery status? Is there any way to request a manual review or update from eBay Support? I’m concerned that the incorrect status may affect my seller metrics, payment release, or create unnecessary “item not received” cases. Thank you for any advice!

New Seller Seeking Advice. Pricing Error and irritating Buyer.

I’m looking for guidance on how to properly handle a pricing error on a sold listing. I accidentally listed a card for $25 instead of $125 , and the buyer purchased it before I noticed. I reached out to explain the mistake and asked if they could request a cancellation. The buyer declined and stated they would leave negative feedback if I cancel it myself. I’d appreciate clarification on the following points: What is the correct procedure for canceling an order due to an obvious pricing error? Is “out of stock” the only cancellation reason available to sellers in situations like this? How should a seller proceed when a buyer openly states they intend to leave negative feedback if the seller cancels? Are there any protections or best practices for avoiding penalties when the mistake is clearly a listing error? Thank you for any advice experienced sellers can offer.

Now Streaming - Proven Summer Marketing tricks

Summer Marketing Tactics | eBay for Sellers Webinar Recap Last week, eBay seller Chuck Van Pelt joined eBay Product Marketing Manager Evan Swanson and ProSeller Account Manager Alex Lobos to share proven  Summer Marketing Tactics at the latest eBay for Sellers Webinar.  The webinar focused on one central idea: consistently using Seller Hub marketing tools can increase conversions and drive long-term growth. Key strategies from the session are below, and the full session is available to watch on YouTube.    Key Takeaway The strongest sellers combine multiple marketing tools as a coordinated strategy. By leveraging Seller-Initiated Offers, Sale Events, Volume Pricing, Order Discounts, Coupons, and Newsletters together, sellers can improve conversion rates, move inventory faster, increase order values, and build long-term customer loyalty. Turn Buyer Interest Into Sales Faster Seller-Initiated Offers (SIO) help you engage buyers who have already shown interest. Recent enhancements to SIOs include: Offer negotiations integrated directly into buyer messaging Ability to resend expired offers through messages Extended 96-hour counteroffer windows Centralized offer management and automation controls in Seller Hub One standout insight: buyers who message a seller are 10x more likely to convert when they receive an offer. Sellers were encouraged to respond quickly, automate offers when possible, and focus on highly engaged buyers rather than broad discounting. Keep Inventory Moving Aging inventory ties up both cash and storage space. Rather than letting products sit indefinitely, sellers should reduce stale inventory by using Sale Events and targeted promotions. Recommended tactics include: Using "Days on Site" filters to identify older inventory Running short, focused sales rather than permanent storewide discounts Creating structured discount tiers to gradually move aging inventory Seller Chuck Van Pelt summarized the philosophy simply: "Run a store, not a storage facility." Increase Average Order Value Two key tools help drive larger purchases: Volume Pricing encourages buyers to purchase multiple quantities of the same item. This works especially well for consumables, parts, and everyday essentials that buyers often reorder. Order Discounts reward buyers for adding more items to their cart by offering percentage discounts or minimum purchase promotions. Chuck shared how offering discounts on multiple CDs significantly increases cart size, with combined shipping helping offset the cost of discounts. Build Loyalty and Repeat Purchases Coupons and Store Newsletters are effective tools for staying connected with buyers after the initial sale. Sellers can use these tools to: Reward loyal customers Re-engage past buyers Promote new inventory and seasonal sales Encourage repeat purchases Coupons can also serve as a customer service tool, helping turn potentially negative experiences into positive ones by demonstrating goodwill and encouraging future business. Test, Learn, and Optimize Speakers stressed that the most effective sellers continuously test different discount levels, promotions, and marketing strategies to determine what works best for their specific category and customer. The recommendation: start experimenting now so you know which tactics drive results before entering the critical Q4 holiday selling season.

Is it possible to request a courtesy review of expired transaction defects?

Hello everyone, I am looking for guidance from experienced sellers and any eBay moderators who may be able to provide advice. I currently have several historical transaction defects on my account, primarily: • Out-of-stock cancellations • One case closed without seller resolution These defects occurred between July and December 2025 and are now outside the standard appeal window. Since then, I have significantly improved my inventory management and fulfillment processes and have had no similar issues. I understand that the defects were valid at the time and I am not disputing that they occurred. However, I am wondering whether eBay ever grants courtesy reviews or exceptions for older defects when a seller has demonstrated improved performance and compliance. Has anyone successfully had historical defects reviewed or removed after the appeal period expired? If so: • Which department did you contact? • What information did you provide? • Was Seller Performance able to assist? I appreciate any advice or experiences you can share. My goal is to ensure my account reflects my current performance as a seller. Thank you.

      Ebay APIs integration

I am a Data Engineer at a company where I was tasked with integrating eBay API calls into a pipeline. As many of you may know, working with API documentation can sometimes be challenging and not always straightforward.   To help others facing similar challenges, I have created a repository featuring a Python-based integration of the eBay API into an automated pipeline. While it may not be perfect, it functions effectively and is designed to be open source. My hope is that this resource will be useful for anyone looking to integrate eBay API calls into their own projects, thereby simplifying the process and making our lives easier.   Feel free to check out the repository, contribute, or provide feedback. Let's collaborate to enhance and streamline our workflows!   Repo:  https://github.com/AllanAscencio/ebay-pipeline
