      Changes in Search Display: How Do They Impact Us?

      Recently, it seems like the date an item was listed is no longer visible when we search with newly listed items as the primary filter. This change has altered how we track new listings over time, especially when trying to stop a search at the date of a previous one. How has this shift affected your approach to browsing and purchasing? Are there any strategies you've developed to adapt to these changes? Share your thoughts and let's explore potential ways to navigate these updates together.

      Saved searches are not working

      About a year ago, saved searches that I have used for over a decade stopped displaying items that they would find. I put in a couple complaints with customer support at the time, but there was never any follow up from eBay. Then in December, the searches magically started displaying again, but this only lasted for about 2 months, and it has been another 4-5 months with them not working. This is not an intermittent issue, where the issue comes and goes randomly, it is a consistent case of searches not displaying results. It is not just the eBay app, my searches do not work correctly even if I use a browser window to look at them. Since I can’t easily find the items I might want to buy, my purchases have dropped a great deal, which is good for my wallet! But I really wish there was a way for my eBay usage and purchases to go back to how it was for so many years. I was happy being able to easily find and buy items I wanted. I have seen other instances in the Community where eBay employees are able to help users, and I have plenty of specifics and/or screenshots I can provide if my issue can actually be reported to a department that can look into it.

      Ebay search is broken

      The search feature has been broken for several weeks. Whatever I search for returns items that I've previously viewed already. It makes finding anything new impossible. Is there any way to fix this?

      What if your vehicle does not show as an option to select in "My Garage" or when selling an item?

      Does anyone know how to add the correct vehicle to "My Garage" or how to reach out to eBay for assistance in adding the correct model vehicle to the vehicle selection options? I am trying to both search for AND list parts for sale pertaining to a 2016 BMW X6 M, the list of options only includes regular models, an M Sport model, and an "extravange" model (which never existed). But the X6M is not the same as an M Sport (M Sport models are regular models with a few components that look sportier, where as the M model has VERY different components and trim than any of the other models made). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as it can be difficult to search through hundred or thousands of listing without the ability to narrow it down by model.

      Tired of Breakers

      When searching for cards, it would be nice if eBay would offer a filter to add or remove breakers from the search. If I search for a hobby box, or a card from a hobby box, I get dozens of breakers I have zero interest in. eBay, please filter these out

      How Can I Increase eBay Views and Watchers Without Advertising?

      Please suggest what I can do to increase my views, watchers, and overall traffic on my eBay listings without using advertising. Most of my images have white backgrounds, and I’ve already optimized my titles, but my traffic is still decreasing. I would appreciate any tips or strategies that can help improve my organic visibility and sales.

      Complaint against eBay's broken search system

      I'm trying to send eBay a complaint, but all I can get is their useless chatbot.  There's no way that I can find to send any sort of feedback or a complaint about their website.  The problem is that their search system is now almost completely broken.  For instance, in the model railroads & trains category, there's an old brand named Varney.  Not all sellers put the brand name in the title, which means I can't simply search for "Varney" and expect everything to come up (only results that have the brand within the title appear, but some sellers list an item name within the brand category but forget to put the brand in the title).  Because of that, I would filter the results down to the brand before beginning a search.  As of now, that option is no longer available.   I am now only able to filter down to the top few brands within the category (which doesn't include Varney, BTW), but there's also now another problem.  If I filter down to a brand and then try and search for something within that brand, the search automatically unfilters back out to all brands, and then I have to spend a minute re-filtering it down.   Recently, even worse, the search function is now often taking me completely out of the main category and will list every result on the entire website!  Whenever I do just about any search, I have to repeatedly filter, filter, filter and further filter the results, every single time!  It's awful! I can barely even use the website anymore!  And on top of that, this makes it so that I can't even expect to find certain things anymore, and that's of course going to be bad for sellers if finding their items becomes too difficult because of a broken search system.  The search function and filters were so easy to use a few years ago, back when I could simply do a search within any category, any brand, and keep any filters applied.  I can't do that anymore.  It's become a massive a headache to use this website.  If the search function can just be fixed to keep applied filters while doing any searches, that would be a huge step in the right direction.   Am I the only one having this problem lately?  Isn't there any way to forward my experience to eBay?  The "contact us" page only shows generic categories, and even navigating through that doesn't bring me to a way to actually send the company any feedback.  They don't even have a phone number anymore that I can find (the "call us" section no longer exists and simply redirects to the category page).

      Error Searching Catalog for UPC Match

      Hello! Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated!!   I am trying to search the eBay catalog for a match with a UPC. In the example code below, I have just tried to search for the Big Bang Theory Season 1 DVD via it's UPC. I'm using this UPC as it's common and obviously within the eBay catalog.    However, I am constantly getting the following error. I've tried a bunch of things for a couple days but still can't get it to work.   Error message:  Failed to get access token: 400 {'error': 'invalid_scope', 'error_description': 'The requested scope is invalid, unknown, malformed, or exceeds the scope granted to the client' }   Code I am using: <span>import </span>requests<br/><span>import </span>base64<br/><br/><span># Your eBay sandbox credentials<br/></span>credentials = {<br/> <span>"client_id"</span>: <span>"[ ]"</span>,<br/> <span>"client_secret"</span>: <span>"[ ]"<br/></span>}<br/><br/><span># Token endpoint<br/></span>token_url = <span>"https://api.sandbox.ebay.com/identity/v1/oauth2/token"<br/></span><span><br/></span><span># Encode client ID and secret for Basic Authentication<br/></span>auth_header = base64.b64encode(<br/> <span>f"</span><span>{</span>credentials[<span>'client_id'</span>]<span>}</span><span>:</span><span>{</span>credentials[<span>'client_secret'</span>]<span>}</span><span>"</span>.encode()<br/>).decode()<br/><br/><span># Request headers and payload for the token<br/></span>headers = {<br/> <span>"Authorization"</span>: <span>f"Basic </span><span>{</span>auth_header<span>}</span><span>"</span>,<br/> <span>"Content-Type"</span>: <span>"application/x-www-form-urlencoded"<br/></span>}<br/>data = {<br/> <span>"grant_type"</span>: <span>"client_credentials"</span>,<br/> <span>"scope"</span>: <span>"https://api.ebay.com/oauth/api_scope/commerce.catalog.readonly"<br/></span>}<br/><br/><span># Step 1: Obtain the Access Token<br/></span>response = requests.post(token_url, <span>headers</span>=headers, <span>data</span>=data)<br/><span>if </span>response.status_code == <span>200</span>:<br/> access_token = response.json().get(<span>"access_token"</span>)<br/> <span>if not </span>access_token:<br/> <span>print</span>(<span>"Error: Access token not found in the response."</span>)<br/> <span>print</span>(response.json())<br/> <span>exit</span>()<br/> <span>print</span>(<span>"Access token obtained successfully."</span>)<br/><span>else</span>:<br/> <span>print</span>(<span>f"Failed to get access token: </span><span>{</span>response.status_code<span>}</span><span>"</span>)<br/> <span>print</span>(response.json())<br/> <span>exit</span>()<br/><br/><span># Step 2: Search for the UPC in the eBay Catalog<br/></span>catalog_search_url = <span>"https://api.sandbox.ebay.com/commerce/catalog/v1_beta/product_summary/search"<br/></span>search_headers = {<br/> <span>"Authorization"</span>: <span>f"Bearer </span><span>{</span>access_token<span>}</span><span>"</span>,<br/> <span>"Content-Type"</span>: <span>"application/json"</span>,<br/> <span>"Accept"</span>: <span>"application/json"<br/></span>}<br/>params = {<br/> <span>"q"</span>: <span>"9325336046425" </span><span># UPC to search for<br/></span>}<br/><br/>search_response = requests.get(catalog_search_url, <span>headers</span>=search_headers, <span>params</span>=params)<br/><br/><span># Check the response<br/></span><span>if </span>search_response.status_code == <span>200</span>:<br/> <span>print</span>(<span>"Search response:"</span>)<br/> <span>print</span>(search_response.json())<br/><span>elif </span>search_response.status_code == <span>404</span>:<br/> <span>print</span>(<span>"No results found for the provided UPC."</span>)<br/><span>else</span>:<br/> <span>print</span>(<span>f"Failed to search for UPC: </span><span>{</span>search_response.status_code<span>}</span><span>"</span>)<br/> <span>print</span>(search_response.json())
