Seller claimed roman coin was "authentic" . It took a long time to get the coin from Europe. By the time I found out that the seller had sold 4 identical coins in the same $259 price range as mine I became suspicious. Research revealed that genuine versions of this coin were recently sold at legitimate auctions for $8,000. I paid $259??? When I confronted seller they became irate and threatened to blacklist me from buying coins from "Members of his Numismatic Society" in Germany ever again. Ebay rejected a prior complaint (#5322402416) saying I had to go get the coin checked by a professional. At first I found a pro that wanted to charge me $250 to inspect the coin. $250 to fight a $259 battle? Not a good idea. So Ebay dropped my case, I have since found an honest Numismatist that wanted to help at a more reasonable price. He has 30+ years of experience in Coin Dealing in New York City. Now that I have paid for the expert inspection of the "fake" coin Ebay says it has closed to return case and I cannot find a way to reopen it with the new documentation? So I spent more money trying to fight this fraudulent seller and my complaint is dead in the water.
