Dear Steve, Thank you for clarifying the policy eBay is relying upon. I understand that eBay’s Money Back Guarantee policy allows an “attempted delivery” status to constitute evidence of delivery in certain circumstances. However, the same policy requires signature confirmation for orders totaling $750 or more. My order totaled $2,466.74 and was shipped through eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee program. I never signed for this package, nor did anyone accept or sign for it on my behalf. Your own review confirms that the June 29 event was only a delivery attempt and that the final tracking event states: “The customer has requested that the Postal Service redeliver this item on June 30, 2026.” You further confirmed that there has been no tracking update since. USPS accepted that redelivery request, subsequently lost the package, conducted an investigation, and ultimately confirmed in writing that it could not locate the package. USPS specifically directed me to seek a refund/replacement or pursue an insurance claim for the lost shipment. Therefore, I am asking eBay to address several specific questions: 1. What signature-confirmation evidence satisfies eBay’s requirement for successful delivery of this $2,466.74 transaction? If eBay considers the June 29 attempted delivery sufficient to deny my claim, please provide the signature confirmation or other evidence eBay is relying upon to satisfy the signature requirement applicable to an order of this value. 2. For what amount was this shipment insured? The card was authenticated, packaged, and shipped from eBay’s authentication facility. I therefore did not purchase the postage or insurance and do not have access to the mailing documentation showing the insured value. 3. Has eBay, its authentication partner, or its shipping partner filed or received an insurance claim relating to this lost package? This distinction is important. eBay is currently treating an attempted delivery as completed delivery for purposes of denying reimbursement to me, while USPS has formally concluded that it cannot locate the package and specifically identified an insurance claim as a remedy for the lost shipment. If eBay or its partner purchased insurance covering this shipment, I respectfully request clarification as to how that insurance is being handled and who is entitled to any indemnity payment resulting from the loss. The seller successfully delivered the card to eBay’s authenticator. eBay authenticated the item and subsequently shipped it to me. I immediately followed USPS procedures after the unsuccessful delivery attempt and requested redelivery. USPS then lost the package while it remained in its custody. I have now spent weeks attempting to resolve the loss of a $2,466.74 item that everyone involved acknowledges I never received. I am not asking eBay to disregard its policies. I am asking eBay to apply all of them and address the documented circumstances of this loss. Please provide: The signature-confirmation evidence relied upon for this transaction; The insured value of the shipment; Whether an insurance claim has been or will be submitted for the loss; and Escalation of my case for further review if no valid signature confirmation exists. I have provided USPS’s written documentation establishing that the package could not be located. I respectfully request that eBay address these questions directly rather than referring me back to USPS, as USPS has already completed its investigation and directed me back to the sender/shipping party. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Jack Schaffer
