System error allows 3 buyers for a single listed item. One canceled order left a negative review. EBAY- denied my request for removal because I canceled the order not the buyer, even though that's what I was informed to do by the EBAY help chat.

I've been an ebay member and buyer since 2005. Less than two weeks ago, I started selling my old collectibles on ebay. I made over 40 sales and everything was going smooth. Then, I listed a single item last Friday and when I woke up, I had 3 different buyers who had bought and paid for the item. I double checked the listing and it was listed as a quantity of 1. Through the help chat and articles it said I had to cancel the extra orders. I canceled two of the orders and explained what happened. One of them who is a reseller, left me negative feedback after I explained. I sent him screenshots verifying everything and asked that he take down his review. He hasn't responded and ebay denied my request for the removal of the negative feedback because I was the one who canceled the order and not the buyer, even though that's exactly what I was informed to do from the same help chat. My rating went from 100% to 83%. Any other sellers ever experience anything like this? Any suggestions beyond contacting the buyer again and requesting removal? Thanks in advance.

Should I accept a return even if the reason for return was marked incorrectly (defective instead of Buyer's remorse) and I talked to eBay support about it?

I sell new old stock wakeboard bindings. about a week ago, I sold 20 year old Hyperlite Byerly wakeboard bindings to someone. They were closed toe and a size large, so that would fit a US Men's size 9 - 11. Because these were old stock bindings, they naturally had a little cosmetic wear, but that wouldn't have impacted performance on the water, but I made sure that in the description it was clear there would be a little weathering and that the buyer should inspect the pictures further to make sure they knew the condition of the bindings I was selling. I do this for every listing, no matter if the weathering is noticable or not. Last saturday, the buyer contacted me And told me that they couldn't fit the bindings, despite being a men's size 10. they also sent me photos of the bindings even further damaged, most likely from trying to get the binding on. However, I suspect there was major user error at play. Byerly are not like modern wakeboard bindings where you can slide them on dry. They are very tight and require you wet both the bindings and your feet at least before attempting to try them on. when I looked at the pictures the buyer sent me, the bindings looked very dry, so I know they did not try this method. Despite the message for their return talking mainly about how the bindings did not fit, they marked the reason as Defective instead of Buyer's Remorse. I contacted Ebay support about it, telling them the situation, and assured me it was handled and that they were on my side. But there is still a return request sitting in my inbox. I do not want to have to pay for shipping, since by the nature of the error, it should have been the buyer paying, but I'm worried if I continue to let it sit, Ebay will eventually take matters into their own hands and take the funds from me directly. I can't object to the request. I can only purchase a return label from ebay, upload a return label of my own, or confirm I have already sent a new label to the buyer. I think the only way I can go about this is to accept the return at this point and report the buyer afterwards, but I'm unsure if I'll actually have that as an option considering how all my research is suggesting I do a lot of things that aren't showing up as options. I need to get the request solidified by the 30th. Does anybody have any advice as to what I should do?

possible scammer & refusing to pay their countries custom/tariff tax to receive delivery and eBay holding my payout

Hi, I am a new seller and sold my first 2 items to one person who lives in another country than myself. These items were both “no return”/“final sale items” and shipped the two items on June 25th, 2026. The buyer messaged me complaining & upset that I filled out the customs/tariff form out truthfully and legally. He was hinting that I shouldn’t have claimed what it really was and acted like I screwed him over. Because I filled it out “incorrectly” to the buyer, he was asked to pay the tax/tariff amount before it would be delivered. He complained that the ring was “cloudy” and not good, wanting a refund… but he has not even received the item, it’s still sitting in customs and has been since July 7th. I messaged the buyer multiple times asking if he was going to get his item or let me know if he’s not going to pay for the tax. He then complained about the 2nd item which was a gemstone saying “you did not tell me about the inclusions, I want a refund.” But funny thing is that I told him there were inclusions visible right in the eBay chat and even sent more close up pictures before he purchased. But now this buyer requested a return and refund for the gemstone. And now my payout is still on hold because he won’t pay for the countries customs/tariff tax on the first item and wants a return for the second even though we spoke in detail about the inclusions and quality. He won’t respond to any of my messages and just want the money from the items I sold and shipped to the person. How can I get eBay customer service to release the hold as I did my part as a seller and gave plenty of detail of both items before he made an offer. Want to get the hold off!!!

Buyer says that they didn’t receive package even though it shows on the USPS tracking that the item was delivered. What do I do?

I shipped the order last month and it says that it was delivered to the porch of their residence 2 days later(6/26). However, half a month later(7/16), they have reached out to me to say that they didn’t receive the package. I have contacted usps, and they reiterated what the final update says and that the buyer should not have waited almost a month to announce that they hadn’t received their package. At this point the buyer is asking for a refund or another pair of shirts; which I don’t have. I checked their account and they have positive reviews, so that makes me think they aren’t scammers. Can someone please help me with what I should do???

USPS Confirmed item was delivered, but tracking is glitched and will not update. How do I get paid?

Unless I am misunderstanding, I need a delivery confirmation to receive payment. The problem is that the tracking number is glitched and this was confirmed by USPS. I've been given proof the item was delivered but the tracking does not reflect this. I've tried to reach out to customer service and I've gotten nowhere. Full story: On July 7th I took an order to USPS. I let them weigh the item and bought the label from the employee. They shipped off the item. On July 10th, the tracking updated to say the item was being held a few states away and would not be delivered because the label was not paid for. I knew I had in fact paid for the label, so I took the receipt and went back to the post office. They confirmed not only had the label been paid for, but the item was already delivered! I went home and assumed the tracking would update to reflect this. It never did. I went back to the post office and they were just as confused as I was. The internal system shows all the scans from when it was dropped off to when it was delivered. The public tracking page stops on July 10th. They told me the scan when the item was wrongly held for unpaid postage must have been an error that glitched out the public tracking. They printed off the internal tracking records and told me to contact the official USPS customer service to see if they can force the public tracking to update. Spoiler: they couldn't. All they could do was confirm the item was delivered and confirm the public tracking had not been updated. The person I spoke to said they had never seen this happen, and the public tracking should've continued updating past the 10th. I was told it was not possible for them to manually update the tracking. So, I contacted eBay customer support. The ai kept telling me over and over to use the tracking number to prove the item was delivered. I finally was able to speak to a real person, but I got nowhere and was given another number to call (ending in 29). When I called all I got was a robot telling me it can't help me or transfer me to a customer service agent. As for the buyer's side of things, I've tried to keep them updated but all I've gotten is radio silence. USPS gave me the internal scans so as far as I know it was delivered. They haven't filed a claim, but why would they? They got the item. Is that it? I just don't ever get paid? Does eBay hold on to the money forever? I've tried to find an eBay customer support email so I can send the proof the item was delivered and hopefully get help but I've come up with nothing.

New Seller Seeking Advice. Pricing Error and irritating Buyer.

I’m looking for guidance on how to properly handle a pricing error on a sold listing. I accidentally listed a card for $25 instead of $125 , and the buyer purchased it before I noticed. I reached out to explain the mistake and asked if they could request a cancellation. The buyer declined and stated they would leave negative feedback if I cancel it myself. I’d appreciate clarification on the following points: What is the correct procedure for canceling an order due to an obvious pricing error? Is “out of stock” the only cancellation reason available to sellers in situations like this? How should a seller proceed when a buyer openly states they intend to leave negative feedback if the seller cancels? Are there any protections or best practices for avoiding penalties when the mistake is clearly a listing error? Thank you for any advice experienced sellers can offer.
