Buyer returned a lesser condition copy of the same comic book **RESOLVED**

So, I have a question. Been on here for years. This is actually the first time this has happened. I shipped a set of comics books(Secret Wars 1-12). Three weeks later, the buyer wants to return them. I'm not happy with that, but I do have a 30 day return policy. When I get the books, one of them is not the same one I shipped. It is visually different. This is the one I sent.

This is the one I got back.
It is a completely different book. The spine is cut completely differently. There are back cover and internal page discrepancies as well. I included pictures showing that the item returned was not the item I shipped. EBay agreed that the images bore that out. They refunded the buyer anyway, stating in the email they sent me that he would probably file a charge-back. So, I'm curious what my recourse on this is. I know can file an appeal, but it just says include any new material within 30 days. There is no NEW material. Its just the images I already provided, which eBay agreed showed a clear discrepancy, but they refunded the buyer anyway. I'd like to get my money back and I'd also like this buyer dealt with. I do not believe that he accidentally sent the wrong issue back when the other 11 issues from the Secret Wars set were the ones I shipped. I know. Big Ask. But a kid can dream.

"A Children's Product Certificate is missing" warning on used collectible figures/trading cards - how to resolve?

I'm getting "A Children's Product Certificate is missing. Add a CPC to make your listing visible to U.S. buyers. " warnings on multiple listings in Collectibles > Figures & Statues and Trading Cards categories. These are all used/pre-owned collector items intended for adult collectors, not children's toys. For listings where an Age Level field is available in Item Specifics (e.g., trading cards), I've already set it to "13+", but the warning still appears. For other categories like Figures & Statues, there's no Age Level or age declaration field in Item Specifics at all. Has anyone found a way to resolve this warning for adult collector items, especially in categories without an age field? Any insight on what eBay's system is actually checking would be appreciated.

Scam alert. Complaint Regarding Misrepresented Coin Lot Sold by *** *** *** Live Auction on eBay

On June 16, 2026, I participated in a live auction conducted by *** *** *** on eBay and purchased more than $1,600 worth of coins. One of the items I purchased was advertised as a set of Chinese gold coins spanning the years 2003 through 2007. After receiving the coins, I sought professional evaluations to verify their value. The first dealer informed me that the set was worth approximately $500, significantly less than the amount I paid. Concerned by this assessment, I obtained opinions from two additional coin professionals, and both independently arrived at similar valuations. During one of these evaluations, a dealer also noted that the display case shown and described during the auction did not accurately match the coins contained within it. Upon closer inspection and magnification, it appeared that all of the coins in the set were dated 2007, contrary to the representation that the collection consisted of coins from multiple years between 2003 and 2007. I contacted eBay regarding my concerns and was advised that I first needed to communicate directly with the seller before eBay could review the matter. I promptly attempted to resolve the issue with the seller. While the seller initially responded, the communication was delayed and ultimately ceased altogether without any meaningful resolution being offered. Based on the facts outlined above, I believe this item was materially misrepresented during the live auction. I am requesting that eBay thoroughly investigate this transaction, review the auction recording and product description, and determine whether the seller has engaged in a pattern of misleading representations. I am also requesting appropriate corrective action, including a refund and any enforcement measures eBay deems necessary to protect future buyers. As a collector and customer, I believe marketplace integrity depends on accurate product descriptions and honest representations. I hope eBay will fully review this matter and take the appropriate steps to ensure that other buyers do not experience similar issues.

New Seller Seeking Advice. Pricing Error and irritating Buyer.

I’m looking for guidance on how to properly handle a pricing error on a sold listing. I accidentally listed a card for $25 instead of $125 , and the buyer purchased it before I noticed. I reached out to explain the mistake and asked if they could request a cancellation. The buyer declined and stated they would leave negative feedback if I cancel it myself. I’d appreciate clarification on the following points: What is the correct procedure for canceling an order due to an obvious pricing error? Is “out of stock” the only cancellation reason available to sellers in situations like this? How should a seller proceed when a buyer openly states they intend to leave negative feedback if the seller cancels? Are there any protections or best practices for avoiding penalties when the mistake is clearly a listing error? Thank you for any advice experienced sellers can offer.

Completed return case involving item substitution (graded collectible) – request for moderator guidance

I am posting for guidance from experienced sellers and eBay moderators regarding a completed return case involving suspected item substitution. I sold a graded Pokémon card (SGC 7 holographic Dark Charizard) via auction. The buyer completed payment and the item was shipped securely. The buyer later opened a return request claiming the item arrived damaged. I accepted the return in good faith and followed eBay’s return process. However, the item returned was not the original item shipped. Instead, I received a sealed stack of low-value Energy cards. The original graded card was not included in the return. Despite this discrepancy, the buyer received a refund. I submitted evidence during the case and again during appeal. The appeal was denied and the case is now closed. At this stage, I am not asking for the decision to be reversed through this forum. I am seeking clarification on escalation pathways and policy handling for completed return cases involving item substitution. Specifically: What escalation path exists for completed cases involving returned-item mismatch or substitution? What documentation is typically required for review of serialized/graded collectibles? Is there a specific fraud escalation process for return substitution cases? I am trying to understand whether there are additional steps available beyond the standard appeal process in cases like this.

Refund when no return or refunds accepted

Hello this is my first time on the forum, my question is simple and to the point. I made a purchase on eBay and In the listing itself I want to be clearly known did show that item has some damage like cracks and some warping in its images and description. That’s fine and is expected of older collectible mega sets, upon examining the figure however I have noted that there’s more damage, and missing parts in than is listed In the description. On top of this information the listing itself states that the set is 100% complete, when it is not in fact the case. I have images with proof of this. Would it be reasonable to ask for a refund, even if the seller has a no refund policy? (I’d include photos directly but couldn’t get them to post on here by iOS)
