For the first time in years I lost an item. I had a vintage Barbie head that was damaged, I listed it under $20. It sold and I went right away to pull the order. I'm very organized, but couldn't find it. I turned my little doll shop upside down trying to find it, to no avail. I felt awful. I felt I had let my customer down. I refunded my customer and sent him a message (see attached) apologizing profusely. I told if I found it, I would send it to him FREE OF CHARGE, along with extras. I continued to look for it. He sent a message asking for an update, THEN threatens to leave me a negative feedback! I replied asking why would he do that, and that his threat was what eBay calls "feedback extortion". He leaves a negative feedback. I spoke with eBay after he left the threat, the agent agrees that it's feedback extortion and tells me to report him for the message (i did). He said if he left a negative they would remove it. He tells me if they deny it, to call back and ask for a supervisor to escalate the case. After he leaves the negative feedback I speak to an agent who tells me to request that it be removed for extortion. I did the request and was denied. AGAIN I speak to an agent that tells me that the guy has a right to give me a negative because I disappointed him and should have messaged him daily until I found it, that it's all my fault! He continued to berate me as a seller and how I should be doing business. Now I'm waiting for a callback from a supervisor. This is my only negative feedback. I have loads of great feedback because I take good care of my customers. Many are repeat customers. I built my little store on honesty and putting my customers first, I always give my best. The last agent I spoke with took joy in gouging me, he enjoyed taking me down...thank heavens it's recorded! Because of my loyalty to eBay, I only buy and support eBay sellers. I spend thousands each year here. I'll never spend another dime here, and will close my store if eBay doesn't protect me.... with their own policies! What good is their policies if they don't enforce them?! We pay good money in store fees, selling fees and every other fee they can come up with, the least we deserve is to be protected by their own policies and from predatory buyers who want something for nothing. I'm sick of it. And I won't be degraded by agents on power trips. I work very hard despite having multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis. I'm a retired nurse and have a genuine love for others. I've never set out to harm anyone in my life, and at this stage of the game, I'm not going to tolerate others seeking to harm me or my business. I look at eBay as a partner in business....and my own "partner" is actually causing harm to my business, with a smarmy employee that enjoys supporting the harm. I'm so disgusted and have had enough.
