The community has seen multiple discussions about purchasing fake gold, often at significant loss. With counterfeit items increasingly sophisticated and sellers often disappearing before detection, what steps can buyers take to protect themselves from scams? Should eBay implement stricter verification processes for sellers or offer better support for buyers who fall victims to counterfeit sales? Share your thoughts and experiences, and discuss potential solutions to this growing problem. We have purchased multiple bars of so called "gold" on Ebay. Ebay has taken in significant amounts of money in fees for these sales and then leaves the buyers high and dry when they find out the gold is fake. They changed their return policy recently, unknown to me to only 3 days to report a counterfeit piece of gold. I am wondering how many other people are having this issue? I am unable to escalate returns, report to keep others from being scammed or complete the return processes they do not have in place. I am thinking of contacting a lawyer and was wondering if anyone else would like to join? I have reports to the FBI and to USPS as the selling of counterfeit bouillon is a federal offense for anyone who profits from it.
