Seeking reimbursement for a lost item I shipped
I think I'm screwed. I sold a sports card for 88 dollars. shipped it USPS ground advantage.
It never arrived after 30 days. I had to refund the buyer. Thought I was covered by ship insurance if
under $100. Was told I had to go to USPS because I used a USPS ground advantage shipping slip. USPS
says no insurance if shipped ground advantage. So I guess I'm out my $88. When you create a shipping label, I thought it said insured for
up to $100?

GA does include insurance.
You were correct in reimbursing the buyer. Now you can file.
File your claim through USPS:
https://www.usps.com/help/claims.htm
EDIT:
I just looked at your card listings and the listings show that you ship by
first class mail. First class doesn't come with tracking or insurance.
Also, an $88 card is too expensive to qualify for ESE so I don't think you
used that service.
If you did indeed ship by GA, you should have tracking that shows that it
wasn't delivered. Do you have tracking?
Or did you ship by first class mail as shown in the listings?

OP2 weeks agoI shipped ground advantage. tracking shows it was out for delivery, but then never got delivered, and it's been almost a month.

OP2 weeks agoI went to USPS, and their insurance does not cover ground advantage.
