Are variations still allowed for listing a Pick a Card listings?
Hi all,
I have seen videos and listings of sellers using the Variation function to list a Pick a Card type of listing. They would list entire sets, listing each card separately and the buyer would use a drop-down box to choose the card they wanted from the set.
It seems like there has been a change in listings. I had an issue trying to list a new set. I reached out to eBay and was told that there has been a change I was not able to list the same way.
Has anyone run into issues, or know if I'm breaking a policy? I see so many Pick a Card type of listings, I thought it was a proper use of the variation and I do not want to get in trouble.

·3 years agoIf you want to do these types of listings efficiency, you need to learn Excel (maybe even Python, that was the next level up for me) and use the reports tab to create/upload listings and manage quantity. Here's the docs: https://www.ebay.com/sh/resources/reports
I highly recommend a scanner too for getting the images WAY faster than you can photograph 'em. I use an Epson DS-510 but I've heard mostly good things about the Fujitsus too.

·3 years ago@pulls-and-picks Yes it's allowed. You have to make sure you are listing in trading card singles and with the new listing tool.
To create a variation listing you will need to use the new listing tool while working from your computer. The new listing tool can be accessed through Seller Hub. If you are already using Seller Hub, please click the link below to access the new listing tool:

If you are not currently using Seller Hub please follow the steps below to access Seller Hub while working from your computer to create your listing using the new listing tool.
To access Seller Hub:
1. Go to https://www.ebay.com/sh/landing
2. Click Start Using Seller Hub
3. Then, go here to your active listings page:
https://www.ebay.com/sh/lst/active and click the blue Create listing button near the top, right-hand side of the page.
Variations can only be created when using the Buy It Now format. When using the new listing tool, in the pricing section make sure you have selected the Buy It Now format.
If you do not see the variations option, click on the 3 dots on the upper right-hand side of the listing form, then select Settings (gear icon) and click on the variations toggle so it turns blue.

Please note: The Variation Attribute name cannot be the same as eBay's default item specifics.
You may also want to set up a calculated or flat shipping rule in your account settings so that your buyers pay the correct shipping for additional items when they purchase more than one from your listing.

OP3 years agoThank you. I did not want to get banned for listing variations since the cards are not really variations, just different cards in the same set.
