Florida sales tax holiday
Recently purchased an item and upon checking my order details, I see sales tax was added to the total. The issue is that my state of Florida currently has a sales tax holiday on hunting, fishing, and camping gear that goes from 9-1 to 12-31-26. My item was on Florida’s tax exempt list. 3 messages to eBay were not responded to. The AI person on the phone line apparently couldn’t understand my question and hung up. Finally did get a response from a community “mentor”. After providing the item #, they agreed I should be refunded, but they had no authorization to do this as they are only volunteers. They suggested I go to customer service on Instagram. As I have no Instagram account, this wasn’t practical. Has eBay farmed out their customer service to Instagram? I finally decided to dispute the wrongful charge with my credit card company, as I was getting nowhere with eBay. Florida had the same tax holiday in 2025 and they were getting complains last year for wrongfully collecting tax. I find it problematic that they are engaging in the same practice this year. They should know better!

Pro baseball player buying his glove on ebay

Not sure if ebay saw it, but during the Cubs vs Blue Jays baseball game, the Cubs announcers were showing the baseball glove a player was using on the Blue Jays and said the player typed in “broken in Mizuno (glove)” on ebay and bought a glove and was using it. The announcers said “true story.” And they were showing the glove and player. Pretty good story!

WESTFUNGO is a complete thief - he sold me a defective item and then gave some crap about send a video showing that it doesn't work - I did that and never heard a word back. This thing never worked once!

Just pulled this Fox + Wemby duo from Select 24-25 - jersey error on Fox
Finally pulled these two Spurs cards from a fresh box: De'Aaron Fox Premier Level No.150 - 2024-25 Clutch Player of the Year. Love how he controls the clock when pressure hits. Victor Wembanyama Concourse No.9 - That 34/14/11/3 triple double vs Kings was insane. Bonus: This Fox has the rare jersey number error variation. First time seeing it in hand. Question for collectors: How much does the jersey error affect value on Premier Level Fox vs regular? I've seen mixed prices online. Faulty Ebay purchase causes $450 equipment to break
I bought a driver shaft that was supposed to have the adapter already installed but the seller didn't install it the right way which caused my driver to fly 100yards away and break. Since it is not a manufacturer defect it is not covered under warranty. Should ebay or the person selling the equipment be held responsible?
