Wow, eBay's lying about protecting sellers!!!
Around June 23rd-26th (possibly even longer) eBay/USPS had a serious issue with eBay Standard Envelope tracking.
There was an eBay employee who stated here in the community that seller's would be protected from cases/metrics/refunds, but it's absolutely not true! There's currently another message saying eBay is going to protect sellers because of weather delays, but again, not true! I just lost multiple cases for item not received which were clearly shipped and are on the way to the buyer. All seller funded refunds. What a joke, there is no way for me to report this as lost in transit because there's still weeks before USPS considers it lost in transit. When the buyer receives the items, the insurance claims would be denied. Now I know why sellers are leaving this place.

·1 year agoYou still using those cardboard mailers and/or top loaders? Seems like it'd be easier to comply with the regulations than continuing to experience delays and losses. Perhaps you just like complaining? You have made an absurd amount of posts on the subject, most of which contain the advice you need to follow to have ESE work for you.
Again, those of us that use ESE properly have them delivered across the country in UNDER 7 days. Without fail.

OP1 year agoThe one thing I'd love for eBay to explain is why are they setting false buyer expectations by stating the buyer will receive eBay Standard Envelope shipping WEEKS before eBay/USPS allows sellers to file a claim for the package being lost in transit? That literally makes no sense. If eBay's going to refund customers with seller's funds before the package is actually considered lost in transit, they should do so with their own money. (Of note I even specifically state on the listing description how eBay Standard Envelopes can take 30 days / do not select if can not wait 30 days etc, so there's literally nothing a seller can do). All I ask is eBay set the receiving time frame to the accurate up to 30 days that it can be (and then not refund orders before that period passes). Yes 30 days absolutely sucks, but that's what eBay Standard Envelope can take and the buyer is making the choice to select the cheaper shipping.
