Why no option to add extra insurance to USPS Ground Advantage shipping labels?

The option to add insurance to USPS Ground Advantage shipping labels has disappeared? I am shipping packages worth more than $100, and the option to add USPS or even Ebay ShipCover is no longer available ??? Is this a glitch? Does anyone know when it will be fixed? Thanks ...

I have been noticing this as well and been looking into it. So far there hasn't been a definitive answer to as why this is happening. I can only think that either it's a glitch in the system, the category itself, or something to do with the location item is being shipped to. One thing I hope not is insurance coverage being scaled back through online service and only offered when purchased retail or other services.

From USPS:

Money (currency / cash) that is sent through the mail can be insured with the following limits:

For Registered Mail®, cash can be insured up to $50,000. For amounts over $50,000, the full value must be declared but the maximum insured value is $50,000.
For all other mail classes and services not Registered Mail, the maximum indemnity for negotiable items, currency, or bullion is $15.00. Negotiable items are defined as instruments that can be converted to cash without resort to forgery.

You would have to send them as Registered Mail to be able to insure them properly

This screenshot is from the bulk shipping labels option. It shows only standard insurance; the ShipCover is greyed out and the USPS additional insurance is gone. Clicking "more options available" does nothing, and "Edit" only lets you edit stuff like dispatch date, what to display on the label, etc. not additional insurance options. This just happened in the last day or so; on Monday it was fine and I shipped packages valued at more than $100 with added USPS insurance no problem. Today the option is gone ...
