Why have UPS international rates on eBay skyrocketed recently?
It is happening on all my items, but for example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/125973376130
Something that weighs 8 oz in a 12 x 8 x 1 padded envelope costs $144 via UPS to Germany now. That is ridiculous, and a week or two ago it was more like $30. That is a factor of 4+ increase.
On my Endicia account it would be $36., and eBay used to recently be comparable. So what's the deal? Anybody else notice this?

·3 years agoSomething that small I would take it to USPS post office and the clerk will tell you what it might cost. You don't have to send it USPS but I like the fact you can get an estimate and compare. Just an idea.

·3 years agoThe eBay shipping calculator is showing rates that match what's on your listing less 50 cents, so you probably have a 50 cent handling fee.
Input same package dm/wt and shipping from your location to Germany.
eBay discounted rate: $16.25 for USPS FCPI - listing shows $16.75
eBay discounted rate: $143.43 for UPS Worldwide Saver to Germany - listing shows $143.93
I know UPS implemented some rate changes on July 3rd but there was nothing I saw last month that would explain a jump over $100.

ebay calculator is showing same rates regardless of which status you choose
it looks like ebay rates are not discounting like they were....?
