Why can not eBay provide USPS scan form for NOT bulk labels printing, like other selling platforms do
Just lost a prepaid package which was dropped off at post office without scan. Contacted USPS, they can not locate it, sure will not hold any responsibility for the missing package without initial scan.
Why can not eBay provide USPS scan form which allow sellers to select any orders shipped(individual label buy, not bulk labels buy) of the same day to create scan form, like other selling platforms do? If eBay were a seller, in order to create a USPS scan form, they wanted to have to wait until all orders come in of the day, then start to buy bulk labels, and then start doing packing items, then can only send out packages next day if they have more orders to pack ??

·5 months ago'dropped off at post office'...I see people drop their packages off on the counter at my post office all the time instead of waiting in line for a scan.
So, instead of porch pirates it is USPS customer pirates?
Clerks are too busy to even notice at my post office customers walk in and take unused envelopes off the rack and leave without paying for them.

I wanted to wait in line for a scan, the problem is I don't have a scan form from eBay, window clerks don't scan individual package more than 5 packages.

·5 months agoI have a few favorite USPS clerks at the counter who I usually use all the time.
'more than 5 packages'...I have seen that when there's a line at my post office(San Francisco).
They will do the same telling the customer they can only do 5.
I suggest going not at peak hours perhaps and get friendly with a clerk at the USPS post office.
And, when I see a eBay(or such) seller in line with a lot of packages...I leave and return later.
And for my post office right around the first of the month I try not to have to go there.
People get money orders for their rent and bills and such. Worst time to go to the post office.
These customers pay in cash for a money order for thei rent.
Just a thought.

·5 months agoEbay is not the carrier the USPS is the carrier. They are the ones who scan. You made a mistake you should've asked a clerk to scan your package tracking number so it shows in possession of the USPS. Instead you dropped the package off. Next time make sure you get any packages scanned first before dropping it off. If you drop it off you now know the risk.

OP5 months agoUSPS window clerks are willing to scan less than 5 packages one by one, no more than these.

·5 months agoYou need to have a chat with your postmaster. They are expected to scan in every package upon receipt, regardless of whether the customer is present.
The SCAN form procedure here has always been clunky. I'd love to see it added to the Actions column of my Sold page, so that I can just place a check mark next to each shipped package that's going out today, and the page will then spit out a SCAN form for that group. It should not be that difficult for them to code as all the necessary info is right there on the page already, but it has never been a priority for them over the years and so they have never put a contract programmer onto the task.

OP5 months agoI once spoke with a station manager, told them that the post office don't scan drop off packages, they say nothing.
Other selling platforms can create such scan form by just "place a check mark next to each shipped package that's going out today,". Yes, over years, a lot of sellers have been bringing up this issue, eBay just don't see it.

OP5 months agoMy started this conversation, the subject is hoping eBay can provide a scan form for NOT bulk labels printing, to save sellers’ time(yes will also save our window clerks’ time), to make processing orders easier. This is my main concern.
Thank you a_c_green! Your comment about the scan form is exactly what I meant.

·5 months agoI've never used a scan sheet, I watch and make sure they scan each package and get a receipt.

·5 months agoYou have some lazy clerks at that location. Contact your postmaster about it. I have never had them refuse to scan a package no matter how many I had and I have never used a scan form.

OP5 months agoIt is good if they scan more packages for you. My post office window clerks don't scan packages more than 5.

·5 months agoI see very few days, if any, where you get more than 5 sales a day. So, take 5 packages at a time; if need be, go back to the car in the parking lot and get in line and scan 5 more.
YOU have to 'fix' the situation.
