Why am I getting charged for a FedEx Address Correction...
The buyer's eBay account has a wrong street name (thus an address that doesn't exist), and I'm getting charged almost $20 by FedEx (through eBay). Two questions:
1) How can a non-existing address be registered and approved by eBay?
2) What can I do to recover my money? (the buyer is completely non-responsive and has been throughout the transaction).

Ebay covers the seller if the item is undeliverable as addressed.

·3 months agoI believe the OP has already been charged. It is automatic, just like if FedEx charges for insufficient postage.

·3 months agoHopefully one day - not yet - ebay will start connecting addresses to a certificated database for verification, just as UPS, Fed Ex, USPS & most carriers do - prior to acceptance etc. ebay currently doesn't. If you use any of the carrier direct systems to ship -the address gets verified.
As the shipper on file, sadly you are on the hook for the costs. You will need to contact ebay about it as there is no specific policy regarding this. It is outside of ebay, coming from the carrier.

·3 months agoYou want to dispute that through eBay. eBay doesn't track or know what are legitimate addresses or not, & neither does FedEx when you print out a label. I have my own FedEx account and have entered the wrong street numbers, FedEx eventually catches it, changes it and charges for it

OP3 months agoThis, of course, was shipping through eBay. The buyer 's supposedly verified address is printed on the label directly from eBay-supplied data.
How do I dispute this with eBay? Everything I've tried takes me through A.I. "help" systems.
