Who plans on using the 1 lb rate for Ground Advantage?

I recently saw the latest price chart for Ground Advantage. There's a price for 12oz-15.999oz which is $0.60-$1.65 cheaper than the price for 15.999oz-1 lb depending on what zone you ship to.

So, who plans on paying 0.60-1.65 more for their 1 lb package instead of cutting off an almost negligible part of your package to fall into 15.999oz range?

That's not a new threshold; you can see 15.999 ounces as the current upper limit for First Class packages in the USPS price document linked below. So just keep on doing whatever you have been doing, when entering weights. I expect USPS will get few if any packages with 1-pound postage; it doesn't even make sense to have it on the chart.

I'll do the same as I do now to avoid Priority.... if a package can be trimmed to make it under 1#, I'd trim it.

Yea, at least for that one can argue that Priority Mail has better "upgraded" service than your 15.999 First Class.

For Ground Advantage 15.999oz or 1 lb, it's the same exact service. And anything truly above 1 lb would have to be priced as 2 lb anyway. So who's actually going to use 1 lb GA I wonder. I find it hard to believe that there'll be packages unable to trim 0.001oz to get it down under a pound when it's already that close.
