Where in Ebay do I go to see what I paid for shipping? (seller)
Summary: benzexpert is experiencing a problem with not being able to see detailed shipping payment information on eBay, especially when using PayPal. kensgiftshop mentions that such information might not show on eBay if paid through PayPal, which benzexpert finds unacceptable. stephenmorgan suggests checking eBay's Order Details or Shipping Labels Management for records, but this doesn't fully resolve the issue for insurance details since benzexpert wants more comprehensive tracking. stainlessenginecovers explains how they find their shipping details effortlessly, leading benzexpert to reconsider their approach, acknowledging a partial solution but expressing frustration over the lack of clear documentation on insurance and shipment specifics.
So, yes I can see what was received for shipping from the buyer,
but nowhere can I find the actual price I paid for shipping and
what if any additional insurance was purchased.
I pay shipping with Paypal most time (ebay uses funds for FedEx) since I get 3% back
from Paypal Credit card. I of course can see on the paypal site the amounts but NOT what transaction it's for. And once it's paid, I'm scouring ebay
and I cannot find this information anywhere!
I just don't see ANYWHERE in Ebay what I paid ME not the buyer to
Ebay for the shipping on specific transactions!!! Help!

·1 month agoWhether your funding for the label was through a Bank, Card, or PayPal and it was purchased on eBay there are several locations on eBay to reference what you paid. You just aren't listening. The Shipping Labels Management Page, the Order Details Page, and a simple search of Labels within the Payments Tab. You are kinda outta luck on the additional Insurance details though.

·1 month agoSeller Hub -> Orders -> Shipping Labels. That will show the price you paid for each label by order. I have no idea how to see if extra insurance was purchased for the label though, would love to know..

OP1 month ago(Nothing against you) but that's completely unacceptable! Don't you think?
You purchase your label on Ebay but your payment method determines whether you have a record or not? What a load of Hooey! Just imagine purchasing an item online, not using their preferred default payment method, they get paid and then have no record of your purchase???? Seriously??? That is MESSED UP EBAY!!!

·1 month agoNot sure how you are purchasing the shipping labels. Are you purchasing them from eBay but paying for them thru PayPal?
As long as the shipping labels were purchase thru eBay then eBay will have a record of the purchased.
Your Order Details will have the shipping cost if you paid for eBay labels.
Track and manage your shipments will also have the labels cost if purchased them thru eBay. Go here.
https://www.ebay.com/ship/labels/seller-hub
If you purchased the Labels from PayPal then you will have to get the cost from PayPal.

OP1 month ago · EditedYes, I purchase through ebay but pay though Paypal as stated in 1st post.
So as you can see I made a purchase from EBAY SHIPPING. NOT PAYPAL.
But when I look at Track and manage your shipments as shown below,
I only see this. (buyer info removed) I can reprint and then see the tracking but what a bunch of BS!
No tracking number, no record of WHAT was purchased.
Who sells you something, in this case a label, and does not have a record that shows the service, service level, and shipping options like insurance and signatures. amount, tracking number etc.
I could just start printing all my labels on Pirateship, and
they absolutely will have all this data. I like the convienence of printing from Ebay but they really need to do something about this.
What happens if a package is lost? How will I know a month from now what insurance was purchased without going through a lot of trouble, and keeping spreadsheets for all my shipments and screenshots prior to paying? Will EBay even know what was purchased as far as USPS or ShipCover Insurance when the time comes to collect?
What payment method I use to pay for shipments shouldn't have anything to do with them having that information available. 'Ebay shipping' is a vendor like any other, and this is rediculous! Thank god I haven't had any shipments lost I paid for extra insurance on. So far. I'm buying a label from Ebay not Paypal.
Paypal is just a payment method. EBay shipping is the vendor. I pay them thousands a year.
They should have a record of what I bought.
Stupid!!!

It's right there easily available: (I don't buy insurance so I don't know if that would show (because it's a HUGE waste of money) (32000+ shipped since 2011 and 100% of EVERY ONE of them has delivered using USPS exclusively)
Screen Shot below where I use Paypal 100% of the time to 'purchase' my labels THROUGH ebay and it CLEARLY shows what I paid, how it was shipped and the tracking number.
You can edit this to be '7 days to 90 days' (after 90, who cares??)

OP1 month ago · EditedOK, you're right about it showing the price under the service. My monitor is a bit screwy (actually an older flat screen TV) and I look at it from a diistance but I needed to zoom out of the page to see it.
And I partially answered my own question about insurance, I discovered that there are these emails I'd never looked at before telling my label is ready (duh, yeah I knew that) , but's more importantly it's also a reciept! Had no idea.
So it shows the amount paid for insurance but still doesn't say if it's USPS or Shipcover.
I still find it veryy wonky and
will probaby just start shipping everything via Pirateship and Fedex directly. Fedex has some new features, Ebay integration and also the ability to upload a pdf and it will fill in the blanks for you.
So greenshot the shipping info to pdf upload, and bam. Or just use the integration etc.. Much better reporting options etc.
Lastly I rarely use insurance but sometimes on a high dollar item, I have to ask myself if I can afford to have to provide a $500-$700 refund out of pocket or just pay a few bucks to at least get partially covered. I think $3-$4 is worth it.
