When did Free Shipping stop being free?

Both the listing and the shipping/handling calculator show free shipping but once the item is in my cart the seller charges a shipping fee with no way to selected a different option.

Could be because you are in Canada. Seller may be only offering Free shipping to the USA. Contact the seller for the reason.

example (item number) of the seller adding a shipping fee in the cart when the listing shows "Free Shipping"

the way you are describing it seems ompossible (but nothing is impossible....)
