What are my options for shipping a John Deere Pedal Tractor and Trailer?
I have a John Deere model Pedal Tractor and matching trailer that I'd like to sell and offer shipping. Do I need a really big box or strap it to a pallet or ? Need help on this one.

·1 year agoIt could very well be both, a large box then strapped to a pallet. Not sure how big and heavy of an item you are talking about, but a freight liner has to be able to move it with a pallet jack or fork lift. You need to talk with a trucking company who will ship it as to how you must do this in order for them to move it.
Remember, they usually will quote you the freight cost...all the add on costs like fuel charges, DOT fees, state taxes, lift gate, inside delivery, scheduled delivery, residential, inter-link fees, etc can add $$ to the cost that they don't tell you about up front without asking. Some of these costs you wont know the total amount until the item is delivered.
As others said, try selling locally for pick up only...shipping this as a one-up can be a mess. Also, if the buyer files a NAD, you will be paying for the shipping back, too. And don't allow third party pick ups to be a local pick up either....you can read about those issues here on the boards...stick to local pick up by the actual buyer only. They will be the only person you release the item to.

OP1 year agoThanks for the "don't release to third party, actual buyer only". I'll try local pickup only first.

·1 year agoIt will cost several hundred dollars to ship that in a box. Even more on a pallet. As stated, pick up only might be best.

·1 year agoSomething like that, I think local pick up would be best.
It'll probably cost a lot to ship it.
Then you have to think about returns, if you have to pay return shipping.
