We could not get a quote for this service. What now?
Sold a listing that ONLY offers USPS Ground Advantage but when I go to the label page even though it shows GA as 'buyer selected' the option is greyed out (as are many others) with the wording "cannot get a quote for this service" and it's trying to make me use UPS Ground.
It's always SOMEthing on this site.

·2 years agoWhen all of USPS is greyed out; there is a problem with the address. Google the address and many times it will tell you the issue. Then you can decide whether to edit or not (low value, probably not a problem)

·2 years agoOr just plug in the address in the ZIP Code finder at usps.com, because that will make suggestions. Could be as simple as a missing Unit (Apartment) number or it could even be one of those communities where USPS doesn't deliver door-to-door and eveybody has a PO Box.

·2 years agoWe have a Box 4 houses down and do not get mail delivered to the 'door'- but our address is still just a typical street address (1234 Main St, City, State, Zip)

·2 years agoBut there are some communities where everyone has to go to the Post Office to get their mail; they don't even have those group mailboxes near their homes and their street addresses aren't recognized as legit USPS addresses..

OP2 years agoYou're right, it's the freaking address. Thank you both.
So why not post a message on the label page that there's a issue with the address? Why all this having to figure out why?
Jeeeez louise.

OP2 years agoBetter yet, why doesn't ebay tell the BUYER at checkout that they have an invalid address?

·2 years agoI had something like this not long ago, it was driving me nuts. I finally went to the USPS site and entered the buyer's address to see what they said and got a message that the buyer's address was not suitable for shipping! Not clear why, I did reach out to the buyer who had no idea. I just canceled the sale due to a problem with address.

OP2 years agoFor anyone that's interested the listing in question is the MV Shrek figures listing.
I even checked shipping settings.
The buyer selected button in blue is there on the label page but every single USPS choice has the same greyed out message.

OP2 years agoAlready checked that, it's 4 oz in a 6x4x4 box and I don't see why that would cause it to grey out EVERYTHING but UPS and Fedex Smartpost.
I guess I'll be another one moving to Pirate Ship.
