Warning Fedex Overcharged shipping label by $200 more.
Originally quoted $45.56 and was shocked when charged $246.33. When checked label details my weight was changed by fedex instead of 1.700grams what i placed to 6350grams. Actually weight was around 1550gr. (i always place more just for the reason not to get overcharged) It was for empty PS4 box which weights around 900gr plus box it was packed in. They calculated as it was full plantation pro in box. To mention that i also always place 1cm higher for each dimension and always 100-200gram more than it actually weights.
For dimensions fedex actually placed less( as it was less), but they increased the weight.
I contacted seller support to explain and to file dispute and they said they will file and get back in 48-72hr.
Check your labels guys this is outrageous.
Im still waiting to hear back and never again using Fedex label.

·2 years agoI just had UPS (per eBay's information of course) upload underpaid shipping so I was charged an extra shipping label fee as well. DBL the original shipping label fee. I looked at my account with UPS and my weight was 10.15 lbs and ebay said UPS said it was 27.6 lbs. **bleep**! UPS has now uploaded documents to me via email and I've had to attach them in an email to ebay for validation. Now I'm down over 50$ on an item that should have only cost me 21$. UPS validated my weight and ebay has to refund my money. I'm actually holding my breath. Hopefully you can or you have access to your FedEx account off of eBay's platform so you can validate the actual dimensions and such.

·2 years agoAll of your empty boxes have high shipping costs within Canada and to the US. I'm not sure what you are using for measurements but hat may be what is making the cost high has Expedited does charge based on dimensional weight. You might want to look at Tracked Packet US for packages up to 2kg as it is fairly reasonable right now.

·2 years agoUsing Fedex on ebay.com and .ca is supposedly an estimate so sellers here often do complain about getting charged more later on. I could be wrong as I rarely use Fedex but I think that all of their parcels are billed by dimensional weight, not actual weight but that should be taken into account when the calculator is used.

OP2 years agoYes it’s estimate but estimate can’t be increased by 600% especially if I placed higher weight and dimensions then they actually are. I checked last 50 labels.
Calculator takes both dimension and weight in estimate calculation. All other carriers are charged exactly as estimated. FedEx from 5 labels they overcharged 4, 3 by small amount and this last one by $200…
Never using FedEx again!

Shipping air can incur a surcharge for dimensional weight. What were the dimensions of your box?

You have an item as an example for sale:
"Empty Box Only"...for $7.46 and shipping is $61.45. What's in the box? No pun intended.

OP2 years agoYe that’s correct , cause some of the product price is actually in shipping to make price more attractive. There’s around $20 in handling… for particular shipping actually cost should have been $45 and was $246…for empty box…I manually enter dimensions I don’t do automatic order uploaded value…as I said shipped 10000s of items on several different marketplaces and this happened only with FedEx

·2 years agoI wouldn't use ebay labels for Fedex but if you ship directly through them, you should be fine.
I'm more likely to put some of my shipping cost into my item price, not vice versa as people are very sensitive about shipping costs. Shipping costs from Canada to the US can already be high so making them higher isn't going to help US sales. You have a PS4 empty box shipping within Canada at C$59 and at over C$110 to the US. Shipping that high will turn many people off.
