Warning: Ebay turned on Global Shipping AFTER I opted out.
Just a warning to sellers. In July of 2020, I noticed that an item I sold was actually shipping internationally. I didn't even realize it at first because the shipping label had some east coast address on it, but when I tracked it had an international destination. Fortunately, the transaction ended well and the buyer was happy with the item.
However, after reading and decided that it was not worth the risk. In general, if the buyer decided to return an item, the amount that the return shipping would cost would be way more than the cost to send. In my case it would have exceed the sales price of the item.
So I opted out of Global Shipping and never looked back.
Then today, one of my items sold and low and behold, the buyer is in Armenia with a 0 feedback score. I couldn't believe that the item sold to an international destination. I quickly jumped into my seller settings only to discover that Global Shipping was Enrolled. I of course quickly opted out ..... AGAIN.
Has this happened to anyone else?

·3 years agoYou may have opted into (and subsequently out of) GSP but it doesn't sound like your buyers are GSP buyers.
It sounds like they're international buyers using a freight forwarder, a company in the US who receives their purchases and forwards items to the buyers in other countries.
It's perfectly legitimate and allowed by ebay policy. You are NOT doing GSP and you're not doing international shipping.

·3 years agoIt just happened to me. I got an offer today from someone in Canada and realized that every single one of my listings now ships everywhere. Not through eBays global shipping program. I never turned the global shipping program on, neither did I set anything to be able to send to other countries so I guess eBay is just doing whatever they want to do now.

·3 years agoWhen you're listing you're obviously not excluding international sales. So it's not an ebay error it's user error. You will need to "fix" all of your listings if you don't want to ship world wide.
