Void/Cancel and Refund USPS Label printed via QR Code?
I literally printed out the label an hour ago, however I need to void it and eBay is telling me I cant. Using the standard "Action-> Void" takes me to a page saying "This shipping label can't be cancelled because it has already been used."
I've voided labels before, but those were printed at home..is there a reason USPS/Ebay wont let me void this one? I haven't even dropped off the item, nor do I intend to as there is an issue with the product and I will have to cancel the order and refund buyer.

·8 months agoGot the same problem here. They refused to send it for lithium battery inside, but only after the clerk scanned it. They refused to refund and charged me $23 for a simple QR code scan and label print. What a wonderful profitable service we have here.

·8 months agoHi @yicch-82 . Unfortunately you just paid for a shipping lesson with a non-refundable label.
Lesson 1: Hazmat must always be declared on the purchase page before buying the label. Read this page.
https://www.ebay.com/sellercenter/shipping/preparing-your-shipment/know-what-qualifies-as-hazmat
Lesson 2: Once a QR code is scanned and label printed at the post office, the label is considered used and cannot be cancelled. Says so on eBay's help page.
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/shipping-items/labels-packaging-tips/buying-printing-shipping-labels?id=4157#section6
"If your QR code has been scanned at a participating drop-off point to print your shipping label, the label is considered used and can't be canceled."
While it's frustrating what happened, the clerk does not know you purchased the wrong label before scanning it. Even if they asked you the hazmat question before scanning, they have no idea whether that QR code links to the proper label or not.
This falls to the seller to understand what they are doing and the shipping regulations that need to be followed.
Looks like you're selling mostly electronics with lithium ion batteries so you really need to learn hazmat shipping rules - they're no joke and they're controlled by the government. Carriers are held to strict standards regarding hazmat and you need to comply.
Come back if you have questions or need help, but please start a new thread. Moderators tend to lock old ones since they frequently have outdated information.

·2 years agoI have 2 stores and about 4x monthly I need to void a label to add more ounces. I haven't in at least a year ever gotten refunds from the PO.

·2 years agoI've never had any trouble voiding a label through the drop-down menu... but I've also never received such a message. Hmmm... 🤔

·2 years agoMost common reasons for error messages on void attempts:
- label was already used / seller is trying to void the wrong tracking number
- service is not eligible to void, such as eBay Standard Envelope
- seller waited more than the measly 5 days eBay allots for submitting a void request
Based on the error message OP is seeing, #1 above is most likely scenario.

·2 years agoCheck to make sure you're voiding the correct label.
If it's the correct label, plug the tracking into the carrier website to see if there are any scans.
--------------
General info:
To void a shipping label purchased through eBay, go to this page, find the order and select Void from the Actions drop-down. The void option is available for 5 days.
It takes between 2-4 weeks to receive a refund on an unused, voided label. You'll see the refund on your original source of payment (bank, credit card, etc) and the funds will appear in your account without an email notification.
Printed eBay Standard Envelope labels are non-refundable and cannot be voided.
eBay International Standard Delivery labels are not charged to your account until they are used, so there is no void option.

OP2 years agoI did exactly that. It's just saying USPS is awaiting the item. I obviously didn't ship it today and the label is sitting on my desk unused. So the #1 doesn't make sense. I only printed it at the self service kiosk with the QR code.

·2 years agoPrinting it at the SSK is the issue. That gives the label a provisional tracking scan so the label can't be voided because USPS considers it used.

OP2 years agoCould I go into usps and get a refund at front desk?

·2 years agoNot for a label purchased online.

OP2 years agoThank you, I figured that had to be it since it was the only difference from prior shipments and voiding

·1 year agoHi @wastingtime101
I recently bought a Label off ebay but never offered the option to define product labeling, as i was on my smartphone (class 1 hazmat, class 9 hazmat, corrosive, etc). I went to the post office, scanned the qr code but the clerk told me that priority mail cannot be used to ship used electronics with batteries. Do i am screwed for my refund.

·1 year agoIf the clerk scanned the label (QR code) then USPS will deny your request to cancel the label and get a refund.
The app does offer hazmat options when purchasing the label. The clerk was correct hazmat has to ship Ground, not Priority.
See below screenshot - hazmat info is just below package dims when buying a label on the app @mahagh_12 .
