USPS not performing their duty Ebay needs to divorce the agreement with them
Multiple purchases being misdirected once at destination then travels the US before arriving back. Anyone having the issue?? Will eBay survive their marriage with USPS

·2 weeks agoI've never had much of an issue and I use USPS about 95% of the time. Some users apparently have issues all of the time and it seems to come down to local branches or carriers or maybe one of the hubs in between that has more issues than others. Does ebay cause this? No. I don't get the marriage thing. Sellers can "fool around" behind the post offices back wink, wink.

·2 weeks agoI don't look at tracking. I don't care how my packages are routed or where they go. I care about them arriving on time. Or more accurately, I care when a buyer complains of them not arriving on time, which IME is incredibly rare.

·2 weeks agoThere are three major parcel carriers in the US.
UPS the largest generally available carrier for small shippers and, on the whole, the most expensive.
USPS with the most extensive service area, and prices which are usually below UPS.
And FEDEX, the most inconsistent, and likely to manhandle ground shipments and the cheapest.
You can purchase shipping from any or all of these three carriers through the Ebay site.
You are reading something into the relationship between USPS and Ebay which is far more "special" than reality.
To some extent, you get what you pay for.
My postman, decided not to pick up any items from the locked drop off box in our lobby between Friday and today. He apparently had a hair across some part of his anatomy. A sub was on the route today and picked up and scanned all of the shipments he ignored.
Most of the time he is a pleasant, if not overly motivated, worker. There are many workers in many businesses who share the lack of motivation.

Shipping is not required to be purchased from eBay, it can be purchase directly from USPS or from anyone else who sells it.
The shipper of a item decides who to purchase shipping from.

·2 weeks agoeBay has no control over missent packages. This happens even if you purchase postage directly from USPS or elsewhere. Their only agreement involves passing on a commercial shipping charge to sellers - not really any type of relationship beyond that. eBay does it as a convenience for sellers. They still make the same amount on the transactions fees charged for postage whether or not the package is misdirected - the burden of a successful delivery falls upon the seller.
If you look at the inspector general of USPS reports, the on-time delivery rates of ground advantage varies around the country from 53% - 82% in the past few months.

eBay and USPS have a partnership that integrates USPS shipping services directly into the eBay platform, allowing sellers to print prepaid labels, offer insurance, and schedule pickups — all while following eBay’s shipping policy.

·2 weeks agoNone of what you quoted says anything about a USPS guarantee of no misdirected eBay packages, or lost eBay packages, or destroyed eBay packages.
eBay is not "married" to USPS.
