USPS lost package turns up after buyer refund help
I had an issue where I sent out a package over a month ago, and the buyer ended up requesting a refund because it never showed up- in fact the card never even made it to eBay to be authenticated- until today when it suddenly turned up. Now the card is headed to the buyer, but they've already been refunded and eBay closed the case. How am I supposed to get my product back since I never received any sort of payment be it from the buyer or package insurance?

If this is about the card you sold on 12/13, how did you pack it for shipping to the Authenticator? If you used an envelope it may have been to thick with its slab to make it through the USPS' sorting machines and that's why delivery was delayed.
As a seller you need to be aware of the shipping requirements for each shipper you may use. You also need to keep track of items that you have shipped and when delays happen you need to contact them if only to start a missing package search. Then inform your buyer of what you have done.
Since you already issued a refund to the buyer, there's no way you can invoice them to get the payment reissued through ebay. However, you may be able to get some resolution by contacting ebay through one of their social media platforms (links below)
You want to use the private message option on the site send your message. Write out what happened, post the ebay item number and the buyer's username, attach a screen shot of the initial tracking information to the authenticator, or if the tracking is available ask the rep to check it if it shows the delay and delivery to the authenticator. If that info isn't showing get it from the USPS tracking site. If the buyer opened a dispute, for the refund, reference that as well and let them know it was finally forwarded from the Authenticator to the buyer after the refund was issued, and ask them to either authorize a courtesy refund or if they can, to send the buyer and invoice so they can repay you. sign the message with your real and ebay username.

·8 months agoYou mean it's on the way to the authenticator? If you bought the shipping label on eBay they should reimburse the refund when it gets delivered. If not you'll be relying on the buyer as above.

·8 months agoDid you file a claim with USPS? This should be done as soon as allowed (I think it's 15 days). Search requests can be done earlier.
I haven't had an issue where eBay will refund the buyer if the package has been sent and tracking is available. Typically, they'll just put the Item Not Received case on hold until tracking updates.
If the buyer has been refunded and the package is still going to be delivered to the buyer, you can ask the buyer to do the right thing and return it to you with you offering to pay return shipping. Or the buyer could send you the money for the item.
It's an honesty test for the buyer that most will fail. Sorry this happened. I typically won't refund unless eBay forces my hand. Ignore the "resolve this" emails, and just make a note in the case that you opened cases (lost package, insurance claim) and then refund the buyer when your claim is approved and check is sent.
I've had items be delivered despite the claim being paid by USPS in the past.
Who refunded the buyer?
Did you file a insurance claim with USPS?
What about a package search request? Did you file one of those?
I follow the mantra "You can have your money or your stuff. Never both." I'll take the L to accomplish this.
