USPS is the worst?
Summary: The discussion revolves around the subject "USPS is the worst?" but the individual posts and contributions from participants do not provide any content to detail the conversation. Since there is no content elaboration, it's unclear what specific issues, complaints, or experiences were shared regarding USPS.
Either I’ve been robbed by three different sellers, OR the US postal service tracking system is completely off the rails.
(I’m leaning towards the second option)
Sellers, please be kind to your customers and choose any other means of shipping, other than the USPS.

·4 months agoThe others have been charging sellers extra fees saying the package was bigger or it's weight was higher. In some cases over 1000.00. At least the postal system has not started that.

OP4 months agoAgain, I was merely voicing my frustration to the heavens. Will never make this mistake again.

·4 months agoNo... no... everyone has to vent frustration every now and then. It was just that based on what you told us of the details so far it seemed like USPS was not really the problem here. More like sellers with slow shipping. No worries...

·4 months agoCan you return and give more details of your issue? Does it seem like the "fake tracking scam"? We would like to offer help, or at least sympathy.
This does not involve the three sellers for whom you've left positive feedback, does it?

OP4 months agoOne item I’m waiting on, tracking says label was created but still not dropped off. (4 days now) Another item was supposed to arrive yesterday (according to tracking) it did not, now it says item is in route. Third item is coming out of Canada so I would expect delays with that, but again, tracking just says label created.
I’m probably being over critical, I would just like to have confidence that the items I’ve spent my money on, are actually heading my way.
Sorry if I’m being irrational…not intended.

·4 months agoWell then - the USPS has not even received it yet. Not their fault.
Okay. At least you know more or less where it is. Trucks and planes can be delayed by weather obviously.
So this time even Canada Post does not have the package yet. USPS is not even in the picture here.
That would be between you and your sellers. It is difficult to see any USPS involvement here really.
Get yourself a free Informed Delivery account at USPS.com and you can get notifications about any or all packages inbound to your address as soon as USPS receives them from the shipper.

·4 months agoDon't consider you irrational, you have cause for concern; however, all buyers are well protected by the Money Back Guarantee.
If/when a buyer does not receive his purchase by its estimated delivery date, he can open an item not received case; however, if it appears to be moving through the system, albeit slowly, eBay will ask you to give it a few more days, not going past 30 days after that EDD.
Please take a moment to read the MBG which should ease your mind at least a little bit.

·4 months agoYou are babysitting your orders. That used to be less frustrating than it is today.
Today there are many sellers who immediately print shipping labels and then take their time packing and shipping the item. As long as the package is scanned by the end of their handling time they are not punished for delaying.
Sellers are not required to drop packages off at the PO and even if they do, they may not be scanned until they reach the first distribution center. With the reduction in trips from 60% of the POs to the distribution center to one per day, you can count on further delays in seeing a scan.
Your mental health may be better served by not looking at the tracking until you are close to the estimated delivery date, provided by Ebay when you placed the order.
Nobody wants to beat you up, but you need to do a better job of protecting your mental health. The world changes, and few changes are without their downside.

·4 months agoWe can't know for certain what your situation is without more information. It's entirely possible you were a victim of a tracking scam or even porch pirates, but without details on what happened, all we know is that you've had some bad luck with purchases lately.
USPS is the best bet for a lot of sellers; it's affordable, you can ship heavier items, it has tracking, they don't randomly add phantom dimension fees, and no other postal services can put your packages directly in the mailbox.
They're not perfect, but there's a reason most sellers choose USPS when they can.

OP4 months agoMy post was not a condemnation of the USPS, or sellers who use them. I appreciate the value they offer. It was more of an editorial on what seems to be an antiquated tracking system.
No need to come at me, I was merely voicing my frustrations.
Have a great day all!

·4 months agoI counter with: Buyers - please don't buy from sellers if you are not fully accepting of the terms offered. Not every service is readily available to every seller. I have a friend with pickup fees etc that make UPS/FedEx $75.00 more expensive cause they are rural.
