USPS IS LOSING MY BUSINESS
USPS used to get about 99% of our shipping but now they are only getting about 60% after all these rate hikes. UPS and FedEx are simply out bidding for Flat Rate Ground Shipping. After the next rate hike they will most likely fall under 50%.

Every Seller needs to use the carrier that makes the most sense for them ... I stopped using FedEx years ago when our label costs would show up on the monthly invoice ... and they double charged me on a number of labels and neither eBay or FedEx could (or to be more accurate, "would") explain the extra charges since the packages in question were nowhere near the Dimensional weight size or weight max for the shipping service.
I now use USPS exclusively. And as @simba6 mentioned up thread, we are seeing more and more threads with erroneous charges from FedEx and UPS ...

·1 year agoAlso, Fed-Ex and UPS do not deliver to all addresses, have rural delivery surcharges, and often force individuals to collect packages from their depots which might be (like ours), a 25 mile round trip.

·1 year agoIt's going to cost you more with UPS or FedEx. You aren't factoring in surcharges. Many complaints in this community about it. I would avoid both.

·1 year agoWatch out. Fedex and to a lesser extent UPS has been billing after the fact saying the package was larger or weighed more. Some have been billed over 1000.00 more.

·1 year agoIm good. UPS turned us off with all the different surcharges they bill after they deliver the package.

·1 year agoWe used to ship at least half our packages USPS Flat Rate.
But, since Ground Advantage started? I've not used a Flat Rate since.

·1 year agoKeep this in mind
Ebay does not check addresses for validity, if the buyer enters the address wrong, UPS will levy this charge with frequency,

·1 year agoKeep in mind that UPS and FedEx can tack on additional fees after the item has shipped...and there is nothing you can do about it.

·1 year agoThey ALL can. And WILL!
However, FedEx seems to be the worst.
I find it really strange: I have one person packaging, weighing, measuring, and then choosing what method to ship (USPS, UPS, or FedEx).
Of all the "adjustments" we get? Usually USPS is adjusting in my favor, while the other two are in their favor.

·1 year agoIs there data on seller shippers that did impute the correct shipping information to UPS or FedEx systems Vs number of newer seller shippers that didn't do it correctly?

$5.00+ for a small 12oz package in the USA is Highway Robbery from the USPS. And they currently won't ship any packages to Canada - 'cuz there are big boo-boo problems over there.

I’m going have to politely disagree with you on this one. I think it is a bargain to ship a 12 ounce package a 1,000 miles for about $5.00. It would cost me more than $5.00 in gas to deliver a 12 ounce package across town.

Highway robbery... $5? That was funny.
I just recently shipped an item to zip code 74855 from the DC metro area. Got there in four days.
Paid $4.96.
I call that a miracle.
As for Canada... why on earth would anyone suggest USPS was to blame for Canada's postal strike?
