USPS International Shipping "Delivered to Postal Agent"
A buyer claims to have not received an item. A chargeback was filed and the buyer won. I'm not eligible for seller protection because I didn't use "eBay International shipping" (<- always use this for international orders btw).
The item was shipped "USPS First Class Mail International". I went to the post office to learn more about the tracking information and they were able to supply the tracking transcript in more depth than is available through ebay's sytems.
The last update on the tracking number shows "Delivered to Postal Agent". Is this evidence of delivery? The destination country is Mexico. Is there usually another event that appears on delivery after "Delivered to Postal Agent" or is that the final delivery scan?
If I can find evidence of delivery, I can overturn the chargeback but, otherwise, there's a chance I can make a claim with USPS through insurance. The terms of their insurance say the claim must be submitted within 30 days of mailing. I'm not sure how that would exactly apply here since the tracking did update but then stopped updating and it's difficult to determine when it was "lost". Either way, it was shipped on Feb 9 and tracking last updated on Feb 18th so it's been a long time as it is.
Thanks.

·2 years agoUSPS First Class International does not offer end-to-end tracking to Mexico. Review the list of eligible countries here: https://pe.usps.com/text/imm/immc2_022.htm
USPS First Class International is not an insured service.

OP2 years agoThank you for the info. I can see you are correct. It's a very disappointing and costly mistake on my part.
It looks like insurance isn't included with that shipping service either.
