USPS First Class not available to select when shipping
I created some listings with USPS First Class Large Envelope as the shipping service. After some of them have been purchased, it's not available from the list of shipping services. The cheapest one is USPS Ground, which is more expensive. My dimensions and weight are under the limit, so I don't know what's going on. Any help is appreciated.

·2 years agoThe USPS combined their First Class Package Service and their Retail Ground Service into Ground Advantage. First Class is still offered for large envelopes/flats and letters.

·2 years agoIt's offered by USPS, but it's not offered for eBay shipping labels.

·1 year agoI literally printed out a shipping label last week for a standard envelope they eBay. The option was right in the list small or large envelope. Now I have a sale and the option is not there... After free shipping was offered under the presumption that shipping would be standard envelope not ground advantage. Nice.

·11 months agoYup, I just lost $2 on a $15 sale on an item I posted a few months ago. But also not worth $2 of my time to hassle with off-site shipping. Will now have to make sure it isn't an option anywhere else.

·2 years agoI recently noticed that "USPS First Class Mail Large Envelope" is a shipping option with a calculated price when creating a listing. Seems odd that it would be an option since, as far as I know, it is an un-tracked method of shipping. Has anyone used this option, and will it allow me to print a label?

·2 years agoThe listing form used to allow sellers to choose First Class letters, too. Then during a recent reformat those options were removed. Many sellers do want to be able to offer shipping services which are not available through eBay, so apparently eBay has restored the option to calculate postage for First Class flats, though not for letters. Some sellers do quite well using non-tracked shipping methods (i.e., letters and flats).

OP2 years agoso ebay gives me the option to select it when creating the listing, but removes it when I am purchasing shipping?

·2 years agoThey don't exactly "remove" it. It just never has appeared on the list of shipping label options.

·2 years agoThe method of shipping is not "removed". It just has to be used where/how it, as explained, is available.
You can still ship via the method selected. (1st Class Large Envelope) Not a "tracked service".
Ship it by the method selected, as a large envelope at the PO, or place the needed stamps on it to cover postage services for the chosen service, and mark it as shipped, after you ship it.

·2 years agoJust like when USPS had Retail Ground, you could offer it, you just couldn't buy the label through Ebay.

·2 years agoI had similar issue, where eBay allowed First Class as a shipping method initially. The buyer paid the first-class amount, but then of course when printing the label, eBay did NOT offer first-class shipping. Thanks eBay, I love to lose money.

·2 years agoeBay does not offer postage labels for First Class letters and flats (AKA Large envelopes); they never have, probably because they do not come with tracking. You can mail those items at the PO, or just put stamps on.
