USPS Cost Adjustment $42.06
Good morning eBay community-
I received a USPS cost adjustment of $42.06 charged to my paypal account I use for eBay shipping labels. I shipped a 1.5 pound pair of jeans from Michigan to Texas using a polymailer and USPS ground advantage label. The reason stated by eBay for the cost adjustment was that the actual shipment weight was 6 lbs. Even if the jeans weighed 6 lbs (they weight under 2 lbs) it still would not have cost almost $50 to ship. I have had excessive cost adjustments from UPS and FEDEX so I stopped using them several years ago.
I filled out a USPS form online and I received an email which stated they may or may not get back to me in 15 business days. I spoke to an eBay rep and she said I was obviously overcharged but my only option is to contact the carrier.
Is this a result of some new AI driven system that USPS is using?
Why is eBay passing obviously erroneous cost adjustments to sellers?
Has anyone had a positive experience with disputing USPS cost adjustments?
Concerned for the future of small ecommerce business.
