·8 months agoThis USPS claim situation sounds all too familiar. You do everything by the book—tracking, insurance, documentation—and then the claim itself becomes the hardest part. The silence or back-and-forth makes you question whether it’s a process issue or if you’ve missed some small but critical detail.
I’ve run into that same uncertainty with insurance in other areas, especially health cover. The policy wording feels straightforward until you actually try to apply it to a real situation. It’s usually not a scam, and the system is regulated, but insurance is technical and those gray areas only surface when something goes wrong.
That’s what made me start checking things more objectively instead of relying on assumptions. I used Bima Analyze for my health insurance, which looks at 100+ real-world factors using simple inputs and gives a BimaScore between 400 and 1000. It helped highlight gaps I wouldn’t have spotted otherwise.
Different kind of claim, same lesson: clarity before you need it saves a lot of frustration later. If useful, this is what I used: https://bimascore.com/vox2f8

·8 months agoThis USPS claim thread really hits a nerve. When something goes wrong in transit, you expect the insurance part to be the easy bit, but it often turns into the most confusing stage. You submit all the details, wait weeks, and still aren’t sure if the claim is progressing or stuck because of some technicality.
I’ve had that same uneasy feeling with insurance in general. Everything feels clear when you buy it, but when you actually try to claim, definitions and conditions suddenly matter a lot more than you realised. It’s usually not that anyone is trying to cheat you, the process itself is just far more technical than it appears.
That experience made me start checking things more objectively, especially for health insurance. I used Bima Analyze, which works off simple inputs and evaluates 100+ real-world factors. The BimaScore (400–1000) gave me a much clearer picture of where expectations and reality might diverge.

·3 years agoI see you recently sold two Apple iPad Pro 12.9in 6th Gen 256GB - Silver.
How is it possible that you could have shipped these in a Priority Small Flat Rate Box? There is no way they would have fit in the Small box. The would not even fit in a Large Flat Rate Box. Did you purchase a Small Flat Rate Box label and use it on a much larger box Non-Flat Rate box?
I wonder if USPS has pulled the shipment for improper postage?

·3 years agoUSPS indicates "Notice kindly Left" and that's all that's needed: If your kindly buyer @folbab-93 files an Item Not Received dispute, eBay will close the case without a refund kindly, and feedback is blocked or removed.
That's because eBay considers any delivery kindly problems caused by the buyer to be Delivered, so you will win.

·3 years agoOn an item that sold for approx $1,100 when eBay requires signature on $750+ @nenu-5410?

·3 years agoeBay counts attempted delivery as delivered, so for a lower valued item this would be sufficient: "Notice Left (No Authorized Recipient Available)"
But the item was in excess of $1K so you won't have protection on eBay unless there's signature confirmation.
I agree with the poster above that suggested you get on the phone with the post office in Orlando - that's your best shot at getting info on package status/location @folbab-93. Do it sooner rather than later since the package has gone without updates for a week.

·3 years agoI only paid for signature confirmation and not insurance
I shipped via usps priority small rate box
I was on with the local post office, they did tried to look for it and they later told me after a week to go and file a claim for it
I submitted all required documents
ebay listing info and amount it was sold, my claim was still denied

·3 years agoYou should go to your local PO to find out why the claim was denied. Priority includes insurance up to $100 which I realize is nothing compared to the loss, but you didn't purchase additional insurance so $100 is all you can expect.

·3 years agoI see the last scan states redelivery schedule. You may want to call the Orlando PO and see if it just might be sitting on the shelf where they put these.

·3 years agoIt appears lost, is that correct? Did you insure it as you only state you had signature confirmation? Without insurance, you cannot file a claim unless sent Priority.
I would advise contacting your local PO and talk to the Postmaster or Manager. Hopefully your local isn't a large one as I have found I get better service from smaller ones. No problem in either event. If they denied the claim I am guessing you did not provide them with a receipt of what you paid for the item or did not supply one. Do you have the reason it was denied? Sometimes they just need additional information, such as a receipt or an ad showing what it was worth. Additional proof would be what you sold it for on eBay.
Funny you should have this issue, I purchased an item back in August, that cost around $300. It never showed up and the seller refunded it. Went to the PO today and to my surprise there it was 6 months later.
