UPS up charging after delivery
the last few orders I have shipped via ups there have been a number of up charges after delivery. We weigh and measure every shipment and round up. the last shipment weighed 3 pounds and we put the weight as 3 pounds 3 oz, the size was 30 1/4 " x 3 1/2 x 1 1/2" we put the size as 31x4x2. it was shipped about 150 miles from us and ebay calculated the shipping as 11.93. UPS charges us a $14 "special handling fee" after delivery. If that is actually a real fee why dies ebay not calculate that in the original shipping.

OP4 months agoThe items are boxed, under 50 pounds and longest side was 31", and length plus width was 35", so it should have not triggered the up charge. I think they are charging the AHS, but I dont think they should have.

·4 months agoOnly thing unknown from your listing - is the container type you shipped. If it is not as simple as a brand new box properly sealed, the likelihood of being flagged for special handling or manual handling rises. Basically - is it Machinable or not for sorting is the reason for it. Same decision tree, different values for Fed Ex & USPS.

The charges for UPS and FedEx are not set until delivery.
UPS decides if you will pay more once they have the package.
I would 100% never use UPS unless it was my own account.
