UPS 2nd Day Air expected delivery date

I shipped a package to a customer via UPS 2nd Day Air because the expected delivery date on eBay showed Saturday, Sept. 6.

Well, it appears that the UPS staff in Sulphur Springs, Texas, doesn't work on Saturdays, so the package, which arrived there at 5 a.m. Saturday, sat there until being delivered late in the afternoon Monday, Sept. 8.

So I learned two valuable lessons:

1. Ebay's expected delivery dates are not to be trusted (there was a 0% chance of the package being delivered on Saturday since the UPS office in that town apparently is closed on Saturdays).

2. UPS won't offer a refund on 2nd Day Air in a case like this because it only promises to deliver within 2 business days (not Saturdays).

consider it a learning lesson, ANY express that lands on a Saturday should be specifically scheduled for Saturday delivery. Regardless if ebay shows it will be delivered then, I can assure you it will not be. The ebay shipping system is incorrect in that regard.

so Remember
Fridays overnight shipping will get there Monday, Thursdays 2 day will get there Monday.

anything else is a gamble.

If it needs to be there Saturday, buy a label on the official carrier website or at there counter and be sure to select Saturday delivery or the same thing will happen. If that carrier does not offer Saturday delivery to that address, pick another carrier that does and be sure to select Saturday delivery with them as well.

More good news (not). I read the other day UPS is going to downsize their workforce. Something to the effect of being more productive......................
