Unable to select/edit shipping options...
Summary: justaclown mentioned a problem with setting shipping preferences on listings, with only the option to "Offer Free Shipping" available. warzonstorage suggested checking for a template setting, while bdmh-enterprises and others discussed the possibility of being part of eBay’s managed shipping test, which could affect newer or reactivated sellers. djrugz2183 confirmed a similar experience. The conversation included solutions like adjusting business policies and further insights into eBay's rollout of the shipping program. Several participants shared frustrations and sought more information on how to handle the unexpected change.
Hello! All of a sudden, I am unable to select my shipping preferences when I'm setting up my listings. I am ONLY getting the option to "Offer Free Shipping".
Any ideas on how to correct this?
Thanks in advance!

·2 weeks agoFast forward a week and things have gotten worse for me. Can't submit my listings because they are missing information I can't even fill out :\

·3 weeks agoNew seller here and I'm running into the same thing as well. There's no box to 'uncheck.' The site just doesn't give us an option other than to pay for the shipping.
bdmh-enterprises
·3 weeks agoIf you leave the setting unchecked then the buyer will pay for shipping and eBay will give you a shipping label at no cost.

·3 weeks agoAre you using shipping policies on your listings? If so, change to a policy that allows for calculated or flat rate , or calculated/flat with handling or anything else other than a policy with free

OP3 weeks agoThanks...I know where that box SHOULD be....but it's not there. I'm not using any templates...All of my "options" are now gone...

·3 weeks agoIt appears that either you or the listing have been opted in to eBay's "managed shipping" test. If there's no way to change it on the listing form, then check your seller and shipping preferences for any mention of 'ship with eBay', maybe there's an opt out. If you find anything can you post a screenshot. I've seen this one other time recently but it was a brand new seller. Are you using the app?
If you continue with it as is the buyer will pay the shipping (presumably the same $8.92) and you'll be given a shipping label at no cost when it sells. It's possible you won't pay a FVF on the shipping this way, something I'd love to know.
@valueaddedresource I found an older article you wrote about this test when searching, do you have any insight as to why this seller was suddenly put in on this listing or any details about the program?

·3 weeks agoThanks for the tag @bdmh-enterprises
I haven't seen any additional official information about Managed Shipping in the US, but if I had to guess, @justaclown is likely being included because eBay is testing this with new and reactivated casual or consumer sellers.
While it looks like their account was established long ago, it also looks like they either only recently began selling on this account or that there may have been a break in time between previous selling and the more recent activity.
That would easily fit within what eBay typically would classify as a new or reactivated casual seller.

·3 weeks agoThat fits my situation. Long time eBay buyer and seller but haven't sold anything in a long time. I was getting the shipping details options until yesterday. Now I'm afraid to list anything further as I don't want to lose out on shipping costs. Seems rather important to be able to specify shipping weight...I checked again today and the situation is the same on my end.

OP3 weeks agoSounds like we were just randomly picked for the new ebay testing - for them to set shipping prices. I'm a LONG time buyer, but just recently decided to start trying to sell. First several listings were easy...but without any notice/communication, it all just changed to "Offer free shipping only". I finally DID figure out how to go in and set up some "business policies" - which then let me adjust my listings with the shipping/handling that I wanted...took quite awhile...may not stick around as a seller long...

·3 weeks agoSo the 2 items you listed yesterday are not using the 'ship with eBay'? I was hoping to see what it looked like on the listing side. I do notice that the shipping price on them appears to be calculated and, for me anyways, is several dollars higher than the 'ship with eBay' price in your screen shot.
Also, because there should be no fees on the shipping paid to eBay, you need to have at least $1.65 differential between the calculated price and what you pay for the label to make it worth not using the 'ship with eBay' at the $12 I am shown. I hope if they roll this out fully they have an easier way to choose which listings to use it on.

OP3 weeks agoThe screen shot I shared was just an example - and NOT tied to any of my current listings. I have NOT used "ship with eBay - and I won't use it. I don't use the calculated shipping price either, unless it meets my needs. The reason for my initial post was simply to try to find out WHY my options suddenly changed and/or went away - with no explanation - and wondering if there was an "easy" fix. Appreciate your input! Have a great day!

·3 weeks agoThe 3 items I listed yesterday are all "ship with ebay" and I was unable to associate any shipping options, dimensions, or weights. It just has these options when I list or revise:

·2 weeks ago@bdmh-enterprises looks like eBay recently updated the policy pages as they are now rolling this out to more sellers/categories.
Business sellers don't have anything to worry about (yet). Disappointed but not surprised to see eBay is still charging FVF on the full amount including shipping even when the shipping isn't actually being paid to the seller.

·3 weeks agoScroll down past the shipping and there is a box that will have a checkmark, uncheck the box and proceed to adding shipping information,
most likely you are using a template that had free shipping checked !
