Try to change weight and size before creating a label.
 
 I charged a flat rate of $7.75 for grounds advantage shipping. I have always been able after a sale to create a shipping label with size and weight. Now I am not able to do that. When I go to ship my order grounds advantage has $9.47 and I am not able to find the area to put in the weight and size of package, so it will not be $9.47 when I can send it in a package costing $7.75 with the weight and size of the package I have prepared. See the two photos I have uploaded.

·2 years agoThis started happening to me too a day or two ago. And had nothing to do with flat rate shipping. My packages are always by dimension and weight. But sometimes you don’t know the exact weight until you’ve boxed it up. But for the past couple of days I have not been able to get to the location to change the weight when I was purchasing shipping. I hope eBay fixes this soon. I hit the button to give feedback to eBay about this issue with shipping. It’s very irritating when they seem to take away capabilities.

Post 17 shows a screen shot of the hazardous warning covering the area where you enter the shipping weight etc. If you are seeing the same thing, use click the x to close the haz warning.

When you charge a flat rate for shipping to buyers, it does not take in consideration the buyer's location (i.e. distance from you). When you do that, the buyer is charged the same if they are in the next state over from you OR completely across the country. You get paid $7.75 (minus eBay's fees on same) and still have to purchase a label that indeed, due to distance, may be more than the $7.75 the buyer paid.
It appears that is what happened to you in this instance. Had you used "calculated" shipping instead of flat rate, the amount the buyer paid would be adjusted according to distance from you.

OP2 years agoI charged a Flat rate of $7.75 because it only cost me $7.75 to the location. The weight somehow was on 2lbs instead of 15 oz. I was just trying to change the weight to $7.75. The area to change the shipping that I have used for years is not showing up on my app. The area you arw talking about has always been there, but is not now.

Package wt/dim is higher up on the screen. 🙂
I suspect OP may have missed it because eBay added some hazmat stuff and there was a big pop-up. If OP scrolled past that pop-up instead of closing it out they could have easily missed the package size section.

·2 years agoYes it is @1tiger-2 . As I mentioned above, the popup announcing the new hazmat section covers the package size section entirely. Did you read the hazmat popup then close it?

·2 years agoYou could have updated the app or, if up to date already, uninstalled and re-installed.
You could have gone to the website on your phone's browser instead of using the app.

·2 years agoThe weight and dimensions you key in when you create the listing are what determine the shipping cost. Those with the distance, calculated by the buyer's location, calculate shipping. Your flat rate charged doesn't mean that will be the actual amount. You cannot ask the buyer for more money. You need to pay the extra out of pocket. This is why it is better to use calculated shipping.

The area to change the shipping that I have used for years is not showing up on my app.

·2 years agoEven with eBay's excellent online discount, the lowest price for a Priority Mail flat-rate box is $8.10, for the small FRB.
An eBay label for the basic Priority Mail flat-rate envelope will cost $7.60.

·2 years agoYou cannot put a Ground Advantage label on a Priority Flat Rate package @1tiger-2 . If you're shipping USPS Flat Rate you have to void the Ground Adv label you purchased, then buy a new Priority Flat Rate label to match the packaging you're using.

To void a shipping label purchased through eBay, go to this page, find the order and select Void from the Actions drop-down. The void option is available for 5 days.
It takes between 2-4 weeks to receive a refund on an unused, voided label. You'll see the refund on your original source of payment (bank, credit card, etc) and the funds will appear in your account without an email notification.

Flat Rate Packages are only available for USPS Priority Mail. There is no such thing as a flat rate package using Ground Advantage. USPS Flat Rate Packages are the same cost regardless of the weight and location in the US.
Your listing in the photo in your original post said shipping was by GROUND ADVANTAGE which does not have a flat rate option when you go to purchase your shipping label.
Hope you get this sorted out for next time.

·2 years agoThat cost of $9.47 is the eBay cost to ship a 2-pound package via Ground Advantage to Zone 7. There is no weight/Zone combination which costs exactly $7.75. (Sorry that doesn't address your actual question about adjusting package size/weight.)

When printing a shipping label, the weight and size of package part is still there...

·2 years agoWhat is "the" location? You can't know in advance where your buyer will be located. If the package weight was 15 ounces, then adjusting the weight would have corrected the price charged for the label.
The maximum postage cost for an eBay shipping label for 15 ounces via Ground Advantage (i.e., to Zone8 ) would be $6.78. The retail price to ship 15 ounces via GA would be $7.75 to Zone 2.
