Sshipping label purchased for a item i sold, as I was packing the item I noticed damage. Canceled
I purchased a label for an item i sold after the customer paid for it, as i was packing the item i noticed damages. I promptly notified the customer of the issue, canceled the label, canceled the order, refunded the payment to the customer. Ebay refunded all fees but not the label cost. Where did i go wrong with this incident? Any help with this would be appreciated.

I don't think I would have canceled? What was the reason you chose for the cancellation?
When you notified the buyer of the issue, did you ask whether they might still want the item?

·4 months agoMy first chow was red, and this little girl is my second blue (gray) chow. One of her parents is red, and the other is a tricolor, which I had never seen before. Her eyes are already shifting to an amber-brown shade, though chows all have blue eyes when very young.
As soon as she sits still, I’ll snap another picture—babies can sure keep you busy!

·4 months agoWhen you cancel a label, it usually take 3 to 4 weeks to receive the refund.

·4 months agoI'm curious if anyone here has actually seen voided label funds refunded? Like if you bought it through eBay, do you see it as a credit on your Payments page? I've done a few myself, though typically my labels are so cheap (tiny items) and it has been long enough ago that you could still buy a label under $5, so it's not like I would have been anxiously awaiting those refunds. But if they were (say) >$20 I probably would have been watching harder.

·4 months agoI spent the whole morning juggling between chasing after my new puppy and tracking down my last post office refund. Here's the tracking....🤣
This shows my label purchase on 3/4/26 but then that I canceled it same day after reweighing the package and realizing the postage was insufficient. I had already paid the $5.29 for an eBay label funded by PayPal. ^
The shipping cost was refunded by eBay Labels on 03/19/2026 to my bank account, along with the final value. See the pic above and below.
So, it looks like it took two weeks (14 days including weekends), and yes, you do get refunded your final value fee for the canceled label.

·4 months agoChow Chow—this is my third one, though I was much younger when I had the others.
This little cutie goes nonstop from dawn to midnight, and she just turned 4 months old....lol!

·4 months ago@krazzykats My grandmother raised chows-chows, but I've never seen one that color before -it's why I guessed maybe chow and (chocolate) lab mix. But I was also tempted to guess chow/husky, with those eyes! Will they stay like that? She has such a sweet face too, which I normally can't say about chows, ha.
As for the energy .... well here's more my speed. I wrote her a limerick! 🤣
I nudged the wee lass from me lap
But she wasnae done with her nap
So she flopped on the floor
To sleep a bit more
On a pillow of rolled bubble wrap

·4 months agoPostage is refunded later to ensure the label hasn’t been used, which can take up to about 10 days.

·4 months agoIf you void the label the shipping fees should be put back into your account as well, but probably not immediately. There's usually a lag on the postage refund to insure the label is not canceled and then used. Usually takes a a little more time to see the funds refunded to your account for shipping that was already paid.
