SpeedPAK delivery times from China to US West Coast?
I purchased an item from a China-based EBay seller on 6-30-24. The seller handed the shipment over to SpeedPAK/Orangeconnex on July 4th and it was assigned a USPS tracking number on July 5th. It arrived in the US on July 7th and cleared customs on July 8th according to the SpeedPAK tracking. It was supposed to be delivered on July 18th (based on the shipping window quoted on the original EBay listing) and on July 16th, 2 days before the originally estimated delivery date, EBay notified me and pushed the delivery date out an additional week to July 25th. It is now July 19th and I am half expecting EBay to push the delivery date out again a couple of days before the 25th. Having been charged $30 by the seller to ship the item SpeekPAK Standard service, I was expecting a half decent delivery experience. The USPS tracking number is just sitting in 'Pre shipment' status and has been for the last two weeks since July 5th.
Any suggestions as to how to free the shipment from what I assume is a pile of cleared packages sitting in a warehouse somewhere? Covid happened in 2020/21 so it isn't a valid excuse any longer for not being able to do a job properly in 2024.
Any other West Coast (Southern CA) buyers waiting for customs cleared SpeedPAK Standard service packages and any insight into how long they are currently languishing in a USPS post-customs-clearance warehouse before being delivered by USPS would be appreciated.

OP2 years agoThanks for all the replies. About 3 hours after I posted the question, a text arrived from USPS advising that the package had started to move in the US with their tracking number. It was evidently with Pitney Bowes, a USPS shipping partner and actually arrived this afternoon. In the interests of future reference, here is the timeline from EBay purchase to delivery via SpeedPAK/USPS to the Los Angeles area.
June 30th 2024 Item purchased
July 3rd 2024 (3 days) Seller created the shipping label with SpeedPAK
July 4th 2024 (1 day) Seller dropped off the package with their local SpeedPAK/OrangeConnex center
July 4th 2024 Item arrived at the Jaixing sorting center
July 5th 2024 (1 day) Export customs paperwork completed, departed sorting center, USPS Tracking number assigned
July 6th 2024 (1 day) Package departed China
July 7th 2024 (1 day) Package arrived in the US
July 8th 2024 (1 day) Package clears US Customs
July 19th 2024 (11 days) Package arrived at Pitney Bowes facility in Bloomington, CA, USPS notifications begin, package leaves Bloomington, CA on its way to USPS
July 20th, 2024 (1 day), package arrives at local USPS destination facility and is delivered by USPS
So in summary, the package arrived in the US, customs cleared 8 days after it was ordered.
It then took an additional 13 days for the package to make it to the destination via Pitney Bowes and USPS.
My guess is (and it is purely a guess) that Pitney Bowes may have road freight trailers at the Los Angeles International Airport Customs and Border Patrol and wait for them to be completely filled before moving them from LAX to their Bloomington facility for onward sorting and delivery to USPS.

This is the last purchase I received from SpeedPak. Some take longer than others.

·2 years agoKeep a watch on the last given arrival date. You have 30 days from that to file an item not received case. I would not wait until the last day to be safe. You can give it a week or two past the date. You don't have to. You can file one day past the given date.
Just don't let the deadline pass by to file.

·2 years ago'estimated delivery on July 18th'..from 'eBay listing'...
Curious...can the buyer open an item not received since it is past the estimated delivery?
@12345jamesstamps
OP says eBay updated the estimated delivery date to July 25th.

·2 years agoSo, even though the 'estimated date states one thing in the 'sale'...eBay can change the 'estimated date' in an item that has been sold already?...Interesting

·2 years agoSpeedPak is not a very fast service. It is equivalent to USPS 1st Class International Package. I receive items from the occasionally and usually once it clears customs it will go to a sorting center in the Midwest and then be transferred over to USPS for final delivery. It is about the same speed as USPS Ground Advantage once it arrives at a USPS hub in the USA.
There is bad weather in various parts of the US making mail delivery slow down.
eBay can only relay the information they receive from USPS.
Residential Service disruptions
When you go to USPS you see this red banner alert.... If your package is in Houston you're in for a wait.
