·1 year agoI am having some issues with any postage service when I use mailers which look like they should be letter mail and are packed in a mailer the size of the Number 10 envelope. My guess is they are going through the letter sorter, even though they should not.
Â
Even Ground Advantage will lose a couple of days in a cardboard mailer which is letter sized. I suspect human error, and a non-machineable result.
Â
Ebay has discontinued its cardboard number 10 envelope from Ebay Shipping Supplies. I am using up my remaining supply and no longer use ESE either.

·1 year agoI've had no such issues. ME-FL 3 days, ME-CA 5 days from my last couple delivered, pretty normal. 2 out of the last 40 or so went unscanned but were delivered normally according to FB.
Â
It sound like yours are getting sent to non-machinable. This is almost always the packaging.
Are you using cardboard mailers or top loaders? They are the most common issues.

·1 year agoCould be a regional issue in your area. Could be a packaging issue. I've both shipped and received ESE the past couple weeks without issues. If you've been shipping without problems to date then it's likely a regional issue at your local sort facility. Some general info below in case it's helpful.
Â
eBay Standard Envelope (ESE) is a metered letter mail shipment so it does not receive traditional tracking scans. The clerk at the PO counter cannot scan it and you can't track it on the USPS website. The envelopes are scanned by sorting machinery at distribution centers along the way and tracking will appear on eBay.
Common reasons ESE labels don't get scanned include:
- Overpacking. Envelopes are too stiff. It's not recommended to use trading card top loaders or cardboard mailers.
- Using ineligible packing material such as a bubble envelope.
- Placement of label. Label should be placed in the upper right corner with approx 1/8"-1/4" clearance from edges. If it's placed too far from the corner the machinery won't scan it.
- Placing items like coins in the center of the envelope. The center of the envelope needs to be the most flexible part.
- Printer ink is not dark enough, or label color is too bright (stick to white labels if you can).
- Regional issues with sorting machines, volume processing, etc.
With ESE, a 'delivered' scan generally occurs at the last sort facility before it gets to the buyer, so typically the buyer will receive their order a few days after the delivered scan.
If you find the tracking on eBay to be lacking, you can track the ESUS number on this site and sometimes find more info: https://parcelsapp.com
If a buyer files a not received claim, you do have insurance coverage and the claims process is outlined on this page:Â https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/shipping-items/setting-shipping-options/ebay-standard-envelope?id=5308
