shipping to Canada
Anyone else having a problem with printing a shipping label for Canada? One place says "no service available" while above it says that "eBay International shipping is still taking packages". This happened once before...is there still a postal strike?

·11 months agoI decided, after the last strike, how I put the buyers off for so long, to just go to paypal shipping and ship item UPS. I sent a photo of the envelope to the buyer and said, well at least I shipped it. Paypal ship station lets you create an envelope label without an order, and 10 inch envelope cost $16. More than I would have paid and no automatic $100 insurance, so I hope the strike ends soon.

·11 months agoBecause EBay internation shipping says "no services available" am I ok to not ship this and just wait for the strike to be over? It won't be marked against my account? (10/7/25) No services available.

I would notify the buyer of the Canada postal strike and agree to cancel the transaction due to address issue. Nobody knows when the strike will be over. This buyer probably wasn't aware of it.

·1 year agoThe postal strike started yesterday around 4pm Eastern time. eBay seems to have reacted quickly to remove shipping to Canada.
I started a thread here about the strike.

·1 year agoYes there is a Canada postal strike. I would advise you to tell the buyer there is a strike which is preventing you to complete this transaction and mutually agree to cancel the order. Then find someone in the US to buy it.

·1 year agoThat might not be necessary, depends what the OP sells (if it's something people need quickly or a collectible type item that isn't available all the time).
I have a few orders I can't ship and the buyers have agreed to wait a few days to see what happens. They will not be able to get the item from another seller, so they might be OK to wait out the strike, I guess I'll find out.

Being Canadians, they prefer to call it a "postal holiday."
