Shipping stamps a few at a time question
What's the best, least expensive, and safest way to mail stamps, plate blocks, souvenir sheets, etc? I am starting to sell my dad's stamp collection that has a tracking number which plain envelopes don't have.

To cover your 3 criteria that would be USPS Ground advantage....to cover just two of your requirements you can go ESE or 1st class mail. It also depends on how you are going to list and sell them

For selling larger sheets, I suggest making a bulk purchase of sturdy 9" X 12" photo mailers, plus large glassine envelopes (these can both be purchased in bulk quantities on eBay).
For smaller shipments, obviously use sturdy photo mailers and glassine envelopes of lesser sizes.
For added stability inside the mailers, trim 2 pieces of the same material used for cereal boxes and soda pop containers.
Purchase you postage on eBay, rather than directly at the post office, as it will be less expensive.

I buy those wax envelopes and small plastic sealed 'seed' bags on eBay.
And then I don't care if it rains all week where it's going.
I usually don't do tracking...stamps collectors prefer stamps on the envelope...not an ugly shipping label. I can use a self kiosk machine at post office to weigh bigger envelopes for correct postage.
Souvenir sheets...I usually take the stamps out of the sheet and sell them if they are not worth a lot. I don't like shipping big items and try to use just .82 cents or $1.75 international.
I do have buyers who purchase 20+ items (my biggest order last week was 44 items).
I will put orders in 2 or 3 or 4 standard small envelopes...take a photo of envelopes and email the buyer. I try to use a forever stamp or such.
My shipping is really low...free normally...
And I think I had 'one' item lost this year...
50+ of my buyers are 'repeat buyers'...thus, they will usually not lie about an item not received...as they know 'they' can be blocked from future purchases.
I can mark items shipped(untracked) and mail them in so many days.
I actually buy my postage to use for shipping from sellers in the USA selling stamps where I usually buy stamps 'below face' value.
