Shipping scams?
Has anyone else experience a situation like this?
A new sell with 0 ratings purchased an Item. They paid. I shipped it to their addres in Seattle and checked on the tracking and noticed it traveled from me in Maryland to DC and is now on its way back to me without explanation a week later. USPS said there's no sign of it being returned by them.

·1 week agoNo, not a scam. It's possible it isn't even coming back to you. When they mass move packages, they don't sit there and scan each one as they load it on the truck. The machines do the sorting and it is tracked as though the sorting was done correctly. Thats not always the case.

·1 week agoVery well could be a 'mistake' on USPS part. Know that they have 'scanners' and that scanner has a setting, many times a user can inadvertently scan it wrong.
Never heard of any scam this way and 'users' (seller or buyer) has NO way of changing those inputs.

·1 week agoUSPS does not have alternate paths to many destinations.
Often when a package is mis-routed, it has to travel back over the same path to be sent to the correct destination.
Beware, selling online is very difficult and emotionally taxing if you see scams wherever you look.
There are scams, but most sellers encounter them infrequently

OP1 week agoapreciate it. yeah, I've not had too many to deal with fortunately. Mostly I can pick up on scammers by their asks but the rerouting a week later is what got me to post.

·1 week agoHow is that even close to resembling a scam?
Scammers do not have access to the Post Office tracking system - it looks like there might be an issue with the address or it might be a damaged label - when you get it back, you can see what the issue is.

OP1 week agonot saying it's a scam but was curious if there was any kind of scam out there that might sound familiar. I called USPS. They have no info and see no reason for it being rerouted back to me 1 week later.

·1 week agoAt this point it is a wait and see issue. You may get it back, or it may end up at the Buyer's doorstep.
