Shipping Refund
I sold an item and the buyer purchased USPS priority shipping.
I got to the post office and they told me I couldn't ship my item due to the battery in it via priority and would need to pay for ground shipping.
I just paid the ground fee myself to cover the cost so my item would be shipped on time, and they accidentally scanned my Priority Label first. Since its scanned I can no longer void the label, and now I am short $25 in shipping, plus short the $38 my buyer paid for shipping which EBAY pocketed.
All I want is a refund of my money, but I've attempted calling and of course, like with everyone else here, they never answer nor call back.
Someone please help.

·7 months ago@how_1147 It is your responsibility to know what is allowed and not allowed to be shipped. The account you are posting under does not have the sale associated with it, so I cannot see the battery to know what type it is, whether you sold it loose, or whether it is installed in a product. You need to know what the rules are so you do not mess up again. When you buy your label from eBay, you should select the appropriate HazMat option if that applies to what you are shipping. Although there are exceptions that allow certain li-ion batteries to be shipped via air, it is normally best to ship them via Ground Advantage. The clerks are required to ask the Hazmat question when you ship a package via the counter. Most clerks do not know the rules, as it is drilled into them that no batteries can go via air. GA is always the best choice.
As far as the $38 the buyer paid for shipping that eBay kept --- do you know how eBay works? Have you read anything about selling? Because eBay does not keep the shipping a buyer pays. That gets passed on to you so you can pay for the shipping label.
You are out of luck getting a refund on that Priority Mail label.
Mistakes can be costly.

·7 months agoYou would have to fight that battle with the USPS that you dropped off at. As said, once scanned it is now used and that is how eBay sees it, too
