Shipping Question
Hello, I’m sure this has been covered before but I am pretty new to eBay in general and I have been using it at my new job for a card shop where I list extra inventory. Looking through the data shipping has been the biggest cost and we’ve had packages returned by USPS for the wrong weight a couple of times. Is the best way to calculate this to essentially package it up before posting the listing to get the dimensions and weight right? Or is there a way to revise it once it’s sold and the label is not yet printed?

·7 months agoIf you have a good flow of buyers its best to pre pack the bundles you are listing, that weigh you will know the weight and dimension when listing and once its bought its faster to get it out the door and shipped.

OP7 months agoThank you for the suggestions, when it comes down to saving money and calculating the right shipping price is the best practice to revise the shipping details when printing the label? Or have the item pre packaged and ready to go?

·7 months agoYes, weigh and measure the package after you've packed it and before you print the label.
You do that on the shipping label page.

·7 months agoYou can always revise it on the "Print Label" page. You can change the class of service, weight and dimensions.
Although I would highly recommend you get those statistics entered properly into the original listing to help you prevent losing money on shipping.
It's not practical for all listings, but 95% of the time, I already have a shipping container matched to a listing (poly, box, bubble mailer, etc...) especially for "odd-sized" stuff......and always keep a couple of those "resizable" boxes on hand for emergencies.
