Shipping price glitch
Above is the listed shipping price, below is the price when added to my cart. Same deal for many other items. Nervous to make any transaction as I don't want to risk being on the hook for crazy expensive shipping for a small item.

Your seller is shipping using eBays International Shipping. The shipping charge includes cost of shipping plus duties and taxes to ship to Canada $51.49 USD

·2 years agoThanks @digi_davi that explains it. Here's the technical issue of what's likely happening.
Item offers free shipping to the US and eBay International Shipping everywhere else. A lot of sellers that offer free shipping fail to enter accurate package dimensions and weight in the listing form because domestically it doesn't matter as long as the ship label is correct. But it has an effect when international sales come in to play.
When there are no weight/dim entered on the listing, there is a known issue where eIS will show one rate in search view and a different rate on the listing itself.
Here's the bottom line: whatever you see in your shopping cart when you check out is firm. You will not see an additional charge through eBay, but depending on the carrier used for last leg of delivery it's possible you'll have to deal with broker fees to have the package released/delivered. There's also the usual customs/import fees if those apply (prob not for this low value item).

OP2 years agoYes I see the cheaper price shown in the search view aswell. Thank you for the thorough explanation, that clears things up.
It would help a lot if you would post the item number to assist in getting a proper answer.
If the item is coming from the US through EIS then shipping will include any duties or taxes.
