Shipping on older listings?
First off thanks for all the help this forum provides. Every once in a while I run into something I need help with and I've always gotten good help and advice on this forum so thanks again. Ok, I've been putting up listings for over 5 years on this account so obviously some are as old as 2020. I used to use the Reginal A and Reginal B boxes for many of my listings and those were discontinued a while back by the Post Office. I will also admit that when I started I really had no clue what I was doing as far packing and shipping goes anyway. I've been thinking about going back to the beginning and just updating some of the older listings because I'm thinking that many of them might need updating because of changes with the PO and even because their might be cheaper and more efficient ways to ship them now. Have any of you old timers that have thousands of listings that might be older ever done this before?

·10 months agoSome time ago I went to my active listings page and resorted them all by "start date". Then using the bulk editor I did a cancel and sell similar one page (50 listings) at a time. Along the way, again in bulk, I was able to update certain outdated information (much the same as you are asking about).
Took a while but now everything is current.

·10 months agoIt pains me to see sellers with more than 200 listings not using business policies to manage their shipping. I suggest taking the time to make the switch @madssurplus .
Your can opt in (or out) and manage policies on this page.
Business policies help me keep my sanity. Once you set up your shipping policies and name them so you can easily identify them, you can go to your active listings and bulk edit to assign your new policies.
After the initial mess of policies that are created when you first sign up are no longer tied to active listings, you can delete them.
It takes a little time and work to set it up, but in my opinion it's well worth it.

·10 months agoIf you have old flat rate shipping still shown, you should change to calculated shipping. The premium for long distances and large packages has risen drastically in the last 2 to 3 years. Unless you are shipping something heavy, the flat rate Priority boxes are usually a really bad deal.

I've been charging a variety of flat-rate shipping prices, based largely upon three different weight variations in most of my categories.
So far my flat-rate prices have stayed slightly higher than the current USPS rates; but I suspect that the next Ground Advantage and Media increase will have me scrambling once again to do some more bulk changes.
So it's a very good idea to go back through your oldest listings to see if your shipping charges are still on the positive side; and make whatever changes you need to make to correct any shipping charges which will leave you out of pocket.
And keep in mind that there will probably be another USPS increase in January 2026!

·10 months agoMy main issue is with lightweight parcels.
I usually just input a flat rate for those, but ever since USPS started zone/weight p[ricing the actual shipping cost has been creeping up to where it's now often a few cents over what I charged.
So yeah, thinking I may have to go back to those older listings and change them to calculated GA now.
