Shipping label shown as purchased when I didn't buy one

I went this morning to enter tracking info for an item I sold and saw I had already been charged by eBay for a shipping label with a tracking number. I don't use eBay's shipping label. I requested a cancellation for the eBay label and entered the correct tracking number ( the one on the USPS receipt when I mailed it). I know it takes a while for USPS to refund, but is there anything else I need to do? Just don't understand why I was charged for a label. I know there was an issue last year with USPS recycling tracking numbers and/or fraudsters. Not really concerned about cost of label, just don' want a ding on my feedback or anything. Thanks for any advice.

Thanks folks, I did get an email from ebay about the label, so I think I might have accidentally clicked on something and purchased it. New correct tracking number has been updated on order, so all should be good. Thanks all to for responses!

Hey @rushmore_4729 as long as you uploaded the correct tracking to the order, I wouldn't be too concerned either.
As @wastingtime101 mentioned, it may have just been an accidental purchase while viewing the shipping info or comparing rates. But regardless, as long as the tracking you intend to use is attached to the order, you'll be in good shape.

Are you willing to share the tracking number @rushmore_4729 ?

I've never heard of any kind of error where eBay generated a shipping label on a transaction without action from the seller. Are you sure you weren't on the label page, perhaps comparing rates? Maybe you accidentally purchased without realizing.

Did you get an email from eBay about the label purchase confirmation?

I hope you still have the old tracking number. If it does not show movement or acceptance for 30-60-90 days usually ur ok when they review for the credit - once applied for it properly. But, if there is any history to that number beyond creation, won't get one.
