Shipping internationally
I have never shipped something internationally. A buyer is asking me to calculate the shipping cost to Spain, but I have no idea how to do that. Help please!

OP3 weeks agoThank you! I'm assuming that your abbreviations stand for ebay international shipping.

I looked at your listings. You are signed up with eBay International Shipping. See below:
Your buyer in Spain is trying to get you to ship outside of eBay International Shipping, as they probably believe it will be cheaper for them. That may or may not be the case, but if you choose to ship on your own internationally you will carry all the responsiblity to get it to your buyer overseas. With eIS, as long as you buy the label through eBay, you are protected once an item arrives at the eBay hub. If a buyer changes their mind, opens a return, or it arrives damaged, eBay refunds the buyer and you keep your money.
I would politely tell your buyer that they must order using eBay International Shipping.
Edit to add that some international buyers will use a freight forwarder as an alternative. There will be a handful of people here who will swear fake forwarder addresses are scams. I've never had an issue Just make it clear to the buyer that should they use a freight forwarder, they lose their eBay Money Back Guarantee and that you are not responsible should their package never arrive or arrives damaged. That's eBay policy when it comes to 3rd party addresses where the 3rd party forwards the item to the buyer or someone else.

Are you signed up for eBay International Shipping (E!S)?
If so, your buyer already has that information from eBay, and is trying to pull a fast one on you -- don't fall for it!
To check to see if you have EIS, click on "Hi {your name}!" in the upper left corner -- then click on "Account settings".
That will take you to your "My eBay" page.
Under the "Selling" column, scroll down to "Shipping preferences" -- click on that.
The first "Delivery option" is "eBay International Shipping" -- if you are "ENROLLED," that word will appear in bright green letters.
If you are not currently enrolled, you may see an option nearby to click on for enrolling.
