Shipping inernationally
All of my listings say I only ship to the "lower 48" continental United States. I regularly get successful foreign country bidders. I respond saying they need to find a "shipping forwarder" here in the states to handle their international shipments. A recent bidder said I can ship internationally thru eBay but I cannot find a way to do it?

·6 months agoWhen you opt in to eIS, that is basically selling to the the lower 48. It becomes ebay's problem to get it to your international buyer. But do add in Alaska and Hawaii as ship to. I don't know why sellers refuse to ship to those states

Up in the left hand corner, click on on the icon that reads "Hi {your name}!," then click on "Account settings."
That will take you to the "My eBay" page -- scroll down to "Shipping Preferences."
On the "Shipping Preferences" page, under "eBay shipping options," the first line is for "eBay International Shipping." If you are not already "Enrolled," then definitely click on "Enrolled."
It is possible that you may have been "Enrolled" without your knowledge, which is also okay.
The eBay International Shipping (EIS) program for eBay sellers is one of the BEST and SAFEST ideas ever created by eBay for sellers -- if you sell an item to an international buyer, all you have to do is pack the item as you normally would, and ship it to the address provided by eBay (at United States domestic rates) to the eBay shipping hub in Illinois.
Once the item has been confirmed delivered to the EIS hub, your responsibility for shipping the item is DONE -- eBay handles all the paperwork (including customs forms), and ships the item to the buyer. If there are any problems with "item not received" or "not as described," eBay takes care of the problem -- you are no longer involved.
So sign up, and make some sales!
Which raises the question -- what have you got against Hawaii and Alaska (not to mention Puerto Rico, Guam, the American Virgin Islands, the Northern Mariana Islands, and American Samoa -- all are American Territories, and the USPS shipping rates are the same as shipping to Florida or California)?

Most of the items you sell ship USPS.
USPS from GA to CA would cost the same as from GA to AK or HI.

For international shipping, most of us use EIS (ebay international shipping).
It ships to ebay's US hub. Once it gets there ebay takes care of the rest.
No forms to fill out. No extra paperwork. No special shipping label.
It's just like shipping something domestically.
The best thing about EIS is ... once it gets to ebay's US hub, ebay takes full responsibility of the order.
You get paid no matter what happens after that.
Ebay even handles any returns.
It's a no brainer.

If you're talking about multiple-item discounts for international buyers, that's currently not available.
However, you can send your international buyer a partial refund after they have made their purchases.
If you're talking about domestic shipments -- what's the problem? Many of us offer that regularly.
